Grassroots campaigns have proven instrumental in bringing about political, social or environmental change; you've got to start somewhere-might as well start here.
White Privilege at its Finest in Seattle's CHOP
It's gone now, but the energy still reverberates through the streets of Capitol Hill. What once was the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone-turned-Capitol Hill Organized Protest has gone back to being a police precinct and a recreational park. It didn't turn out to be the "summer of love" Mayor Jenny Durkan had hoped for and as time passed, the confusion as to what exactly the CHOP was only grew.

The BLM movement should not be a faze
Has social media and society woken to the injustice faced by black people who become statistics of police brutality? The Edward Colston statue was taken down and replaced with the protestor Jen Reid after she was photographed standing on the plinth during the protests.

How Can I Make a Change?
If you're anything like me, you've been reflecting a lot lately. You've been thinking about health - how you practice physical and mental health in your home, workplace, and every day life. You've been thinking about race - how your skin colour can contribute to something much bigger than you realize. You've been thinking a lot - how you can make a change as the world seems to go more downhill every day.

War Can Be Over
Every time we looked at history we see that war is inevitable. Fighting among nations and fighting among peoples leading to total disasters. Even today we are still affected by the wars of the past, not just decades, but some are hundreds of years ago. When will the world change its perspective and forge peace? We must take everything dividing us and unite. This does not mean, we have to be one nation or people but respecting our differences and recognizing our humanity. This is what makes us common. We have to stop seeing war as the only outcome that there is no other resolution. How are we suppose to live freely with war? When one nation's liberty is more important than another nation's liberty and that is what war usually says. This world can only survive together and not separate. We must fight for peace for everybody and war is not the answer.

Evictions Leave 28 Million Potentially Homeless
On July 27, 2020 the protections keeping people from being evicted during the pandemic are ending. For months people have had rent bills piling up as they are unable to work during the shut downs. Unemployment rates have skyrocketed showing that many Americans are in dire need of money for basic living necessities. Some families have to choose between buying food and paying their rent.

Our Oceans Are Dying
They say the ocean is a place with no memory and no future. Its natural beauty is unfathomable, and its currents can take you anywhere in the world. They say there is more life in the ocean than all life on dry land. Yet we continue to destroy it, thinking we can live without it. We can’t and the great oceans will fight back.

The Plastic Crisis
My solution that covers the plastic crisis is to clean it up. We need fleets of ships designed to do just that. California has plenty of coastlines to clean up. We have the whole of the West Coast, bedsides, to try this idea out on. 12.7 million tones of plastic winds up in our ocean every year, according to the BBC earth website. This is because plastic has trouble breaking down, being recycled and degrading. Aspergillus tubigensis is one such natural way to fix the problem as this fungus lives in warm habitats. This fungus could be let loose in a landfill, which would breakdown problematic plastics such as diapers.

Where are your receipts?
In the age of information, ignorance in a choice and unfortunately is still king. Our timelines are constantly flooded with curated material that the media uses as a strategy to sway opinions but as new age activists, it is our responsibility to cut through the clutter and get to the point. Today the point is that Black lives matter and we can not claim an inclusive culture (a.k.a. all lives matter) until the war on Black bodies ceases. So, where is the problem? When did this begin? Before we tackle the actions we can do now, we must at least get a sense of the historical problem behind this issue, however raw it may be, to understand the dire need to address it.

Always was, always will be
The story of separation has been disconnecting us from our roots, our truth and - ultimately - from one another. That is the story that lives on the belief that we are nothing but individual shells with no relation to all around us. That belief creates fears, and the swirl that arises from fear is one we have witnessed in so many different violent and horrific forms across history that is hard to accept we are yet to see through it. It is time that we speak up the word of love and togetherness. All lives matter.
