Nevada Citizens vs Governor Directive 21

The state of Nevada has been hit hard with Governor's Sisolak "Declaration of Emergency Directives", that seems to pick and choice on what would be acceptable and what wouldn't. Sisolak has been blaming the recent Trump Rallies, or as been said Trump "Protests", for wanting to take back 8.9 million CARE Relief from Douglas County, then decided not to "punish" the people in Douglas County for holding a Presidential rally at the Minden Airport. It's been reported that Sisolak blames Trump for holding the rally, but missed the fact that the citizens of Nevada were the ones that wanted the visit from the President. The rally was cancelled in Reno, which is part of Washoe County, by the Reno Airport Authority due to the Governor's Directive 021 to limit any gathering public to 50 people or less. For some reason the directive don't stop organizations like Black Lives Matter from protesting with more than 50 people many not wearing masks. In all fairness Black Lives Matter is not the only organization that holds protests in Nevada with more than 50 people, but for some reason the directive limits is enforced when the United State President comes and visits. Would this have happened with a Democratic President? How about if Joe Biden wanted to hold a rally in Nevada? Would he be subject to the same limitation? That Biden's rallies can only have 50 people or less?

Directive 021 in Nevada is the "Phase 2 Reopening Plan" in Nevada. This is the directive that allows casinos and restaurants to be able to have a capacity of up to 50 %, but churches can not have more than 50 people gather for worship. It was fought in the Nevada Supreme Court to reopen the capacity of churches to the same capacity rules for casinos and restaurants. Sadly it was defeated. Apparently people are at less risks in a casino or restaurant then they are at church, or a bar. Until recently bars, tavern, and distilleries were completely closed after only being reopened for a few weeks in July. The directive is supposed to have the same restrictions as churches for organization that wants to hold gathering, or protest. It's ignored for a social justice cause and it's okay to have 50 people or more, but for the Presidents of the United States it's not. That's why the people in Nevada's various local organizations went to find an alternate location, and found a way to make it happen. Trump said to just call it a "Protest" not a "Rally" and it was. It wasn't just a protest against the Governor for not allowing Trump to be able to speak to the people of Nevada. It was Nevadan's way of giving the middle finger to Governor Sisolak, or what some call "Lick-a-sac", and who I call "Sissy Ass" and his directives. Limiting on what is acceptable gathering during a pandemic, and what isn't. Blaming the Trump Campaign on "put Nevadan's live in danger" during a pandemic. It was Nevadan's with that "Battle Born" spirit that decided they had enough of the double standards.

I live in Northern Nevada and have been in the casinos in Reno and travelled to Las Vegas, to attend several immigration hearings on behalf of my husband, and have noticed that the capacity is more than 50%. If I want to go to mass though I need to RSVP like I'm going to a party. I have to make a reservation online and once it's filled at 50 people it's closed off, and have to wait for the 50 people be seated before they will let anyone else in if they do. The other option is to view the mass online. The churches have the capability to allow 50% capacity, but the Governor won't allow it.

Should the President be blamed when the people were the ones that spoke up? Simple answer no. The people in Nevada had sent a clear message to Sisolak that we will not allow him to shut down, our opportunity to have a voice, regardless of who visits our state. If we wanted to have the President of the United States to come and talk to the people of Nevada, we have enough fight to show the Governor this is the will of the people. The sad thing is if Biden came to Nevada for a rally it would be okay regardless of the size of the crowd. What's even sadder Sisolak would say it was a "peaceful protest" which allows Biden to have a large crowd.

Nevadan's stood up and made it happen for the President to visit against the Governor's Directive. The "protest" in Minden happened outside during a time when Northern Nevada was suffering from bad air quality due to the dense smoke from the wild fires from three different states. I personally think that is riskier than being inside a ventilated arena. Also the increase in COVID cases has not been due to the "protests". We still have positive cases through out Nevada. Is it really due to a visit from the President, when we have had increases for weeks before Trump came to the "Silver State"? Is it, just the fact the Governor continues to ignore what the people have known. Nothing is going to stop the spread of a virus, and we are tired of the directives that are selective of how we as Nevadan's live. I guess that's why there's a recall going on for Governor "Celiac" I mean Sisolak.

An update to this is recently Governor Sisolak had change the mandate to now allow large gatherings, this is due to the fact that Nevada is losing money, because of the pandemic and the state wide shut downs. Washoe County is still having limits on large gatherings due to the increase in cases of COVID-19. Honestly, I believe it's a little too late.
