Side Hustles That Are Not Working so Far

Have you ever dreamed of being financially free? I personally have done that. I imagined going to a cabin in the woods to work remotely. However, I also like stability in my job. It's nice knowing I can pay rent, gas for my car, and my credit card. Even though I have a pretty good life with everything I already have it’s a good idea to make a little extra money to afford more vacations and nicer things. I have been watching A LOT of TikTok to get some ideas flowing. I have been trying some of them out, so here’s a bit of a review of each:

1. Amazon KDP Notebooks/Journals

I recently released some notebooks and journals into Amazon KDP after hearing about this side hustle constantly on TikTok. I currently have about 6 notebooks out and I have made zero sales. I don’t know if it’s just hard to get it started, but it’s been one week with nothing happening. But if you, the reader, have any tips I’m willing to listen. Post below in the comment section.

2. Book Reviews

So, I watched so many videos of people telling me to sign up for a book review site to read books and do a review of them. I signed up for the website but the website itself looked too much like a scam so I quit immediately. Sites that are more trusted for writing anything would be right here on vocal media since I made some money on this website already.

3. Selling Digital Downloads on Etsy

This particular trend has been bombing TikTok a lot and since my Amazon KDP idea is not working out, I decided to give it a go. My first design has been live for six hours with no visits and no sales. Maybe, I will give it some time and it’ll work out, but right now it does not seem great.

4. Becoming an online transcriptionist

This is something that I have just signed up for, you can accept jobs and then write out what needs to be transcribed or you can cheat and use a dictation app or site in order to do the work for you. Sounds like a win-win to me. I still have not tried it though…maybe this one will pull through. There are so many sites to choose from though and I think it depends, and which one you try.

5. Affiliate Marketing

I cannot articulate how many times I’ve seen a TikTok advertising how much they make with affiliate marketing. Companies such as Lululemon and Sephora pay you to work at home. This is probably less of a side hustle since it requires more effort. I have signed up for ClickBank but that is the worst one there is. All the items they have are pretty bad and no one is willing to buy these items. So skip the click bank. It is not worth your time.

6. Amazon FBA

I have seen so many people advertising that they sell a lot of things through Amazon FBA and make an actual profit. This is not meant for you if you are lazy. It will require you to work two hours every day, for someone with no job. This is a great alternative, but with someone who has a job, it might be a little bit harder to motivate yourself to work. I think this is a better side hustle if you live in the states and not so much, if you live in Canada. Everyone starts off by buying pieces from Alibaba and then shipping it to the amazon warehouse, where they will deal with everything else for you. It's a no-hassle side hustle. I have no idea if you can do it successfully in Canada.
