Rage and Fear

No Justice, No Peace.

By Isabella TheresaPublished 6 years ago 3 min read

Rage and fear. These are two very distinct emotions; one is fierce the other is timid but once put together can cause a monsoon.

I am black, I am afraid, and I am angry. My people are dying, we are suffering, we are fighting, we are losing. MLK says take the peaceful approach, okay we will try that…

George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmed Arbery, Tamir Rice, Trayvon Martin, Oscar Grant, Eric Garner, Philando Castlile, Sandra Bland, Rashan Charles, Mark duggan, Darren Cumberbatch, Edson da costa, Olaseni Lewis, Daniel Adewole, Trevor Smith, Julian Cole, Sarah Reed, Belly Mujinga.

This is not even close, not even close to the amount of people that have been taken from us.

We lose all these innocent lives being peaceful!! There is now an uproar, enough is enough, this needs to end and this needs to end now. You want peace? There will be no peace, there can be no peace! The oppressors do not understand peace, so we now have to speak their language. If there is no peace for us there is no peace for all.

“You can't separate peace from freedom because no one can be at peace unless he has his freedom.”

-Malcolm X.

We are tired of constantly fighting for our safety and the safety of our people, we are tired of fighting and shedding blood to simply be heard! Unless something is done, we will not stop, we are not done, and we will be heard. The entire black community is sick of this shit, day in, day out, during a flipping pandemic!! We have to face the racist slurs, the absurd disrespect and the deaths of our people and you want peace? Now you want peace? That is something you cannot have if we do not have.

A little black boy was shot and killed because he was holding a toy gun, but a white female goes to her graduation with an AK-47, takes pictures and walks out without a scratch and you want peace? A black man dies from asphyxiation in the hands of a pig and you want peace? A black woman is shot dead in a house while doing absolutely nothing and you want peace? A black man was arrested for 28 years because a woman dreamt that he raped her and you want peace? I need you to understand the amount of pint up fear and anger this has caused to the entire black community. From the disregard of our lives to the lack of awareness on the news. Reporters are literally reporting the exact same information, there is scarcity in news outlets that are actually reporting what is actually going on. One being the fact that it was an undercover cop that started the fire in target, there are white people that are rioting and burning down building for no viable reason. There are police officers assaulting peaceful protesters and so much more that the governments and these local news stations are not reporting.

One needs to understand that united, the black community is unstoppable. We are all after one goal and that is for our rights to be heard and respected. We are human beings, and it is entirely unjust that we have to protest for our basic human rights to not to be killed! The death of George Floyd was possibly the last straw and enough truly is enough. Things have to change, or these protests and riots will continue, and Karen will keep being mad. The government needs to be dissected and reconstructed for there to be any sort of positive change. The inconsistencies in the justice system has caused children to lose the parents, brothers to lose their sisters and wives to lose their husbands. How much more evidence do you need for justice to be served? It is on camera, there is almost always videotaped evidence that indicates the wrongdoing. However, the justice system is blinded by the coned shaped mask once the skin tone is not ivory.

Be careful your honor, your ass is showing.
