5 Things You Need When Running a Political Campaign
Have you ever thought that running a political campaign would be easy? Some of my less-political friends seem to think so. I think it’s probably a problem of naivety, because a lot of people try to run for office, and many of them withdraw before the contest really even gets going. Campaigns involve influencing masses to go to the polls and vote for one person. That, in and of itself, is a large undertaking. Factor in that other people are vying for that same influence on the same target market, and can really make things complex. Before starting a political campaign, here are some few essential things that you should know.

A Democratic War
Democracy started a couple millennium ago, back in 500 B.C. in the ancient Greek city of Athens, created by an Athenian named Cleisthenes. All men, whether rich or poor, were allowed to vote by the Government. Great for men, a problem for women, who were shut out of the political power that they had during the Archaic period.

The 26th Amendment
I got to vote at 18, I remember that I took this very seriously. I couldn’t drive yet because of my family, but I decided to vote. This amendment is designed as protection for voting rights.

Fire and Fury: The Language of Waves and Radiation
Imagine this. You had just gotten home from work, school, or whatever you do during the day or night. You are tired, and excited to rest after an especially hard day. When you get home, you open your preferred beverage, and turn on the television. Your favorite television show had recently released a new season, and you are excited to watch it. Unfortunately, the streaming service has ads. You make the best of it, having your cellphone by your side to keep you entertained during the commercials.

Refugees Are Exactly What America Needs
Rural Decay is a term that has been uttered more and more recently. You can see it anytime you drive in rural Wisconsin. Stores closing, along with farms, and a migration of young people to the cities seeking work. It helped propel Donald Trump to the presidency with fear that this decay was being caused by the "other," a xenophobic view on what is a real problem. Contrary to that belief, it is the hopes and dreams of refugees and immigrants that could breathe new life into American's rural areas.

Life Begins with the Choice
Let’s make one thing clear from the start. Pro-choice isn’t a euphemism for “pro-abortion.” No one wants to have an abortion. Sometimes it just so happens that one needs one. And if that’s the case, one must have such an option. I am pro-choice, yet the necessity to have an abortion is one of my worst fears.
