Back in November 2016, still a good two months before now-President Trump set foot in the Oval Office for his first day of work, apparently for the American people, odds were 3 to 1 that the bombastic businessman would leave the presidency in shame. With the recent firing of James Comey and Trump's open discussion of how the pressure is now off regarding Russia, oddsmakers are now bumping the odds of a Trump impeachment to a 60 percent certainty.

The Debt Of A Nation
The history of this nation is being written in the annals of debt that has become almost to insurmountable. There have been two critical factors that have derailed the sovereignty and stability of the United States. In all our recorded history of over 200 years this nation has seen only small periods where our armed forces were not engaged in some conflict or another somewhere around the globe. From the time of John F. Kennedy's death all the way up to today the national debt has continued to climb. There are two important factors as to why this nation still can't grasp the concept of elimination of our now catastrophic national debt. A nation at war and a nation that relies on the creation of money by privately owned banks like the Federal Reserve Board are the most ruthless ingredients to incur massive debt.

There are really only two political leaders I trust and their perspectives are very different but they’re both decent, well informed, honest people: Dennis Kucinich and Jim Webb. Coming from the real progressive left, former Congressman Kucinich’s criticism of the current efforts to stage a soft coup against President Trump, with whose policies he does not agree (a perspective I share), has real weight behind it (see here).

Even Iran Does Presidential Elections Better than the US
The US has something to learn from Iran about Presidential elections. Donald Trump’s election has proven that the US Presidential electoral system has failed its electorate completely. The Achilles heal which has been exposed is that in a Western-style democracy like ours, an unqualified, mentally ill, dangerous bigot like Trump can easily be elected to one of the most powerful positions in the world. And even worse, once he is there our legal and electoral system has provided us with few ways in which we can get rid of him, and we are bound to keep him for four more years during which time he may indeed blow up our country and the rest of the world.

Looks Are Deceiving
The tangerine overlord recently had an article written about him. He was quoted as saying the job of President of the United States is harder than it looks. While half the country knew his happy ass wasn't up to the task, anyone with half a brain could have told you that. After all you have the lives of millions in your hands and what decisions made by both the President and Congress are legally binding. He cried bloody murder throughout President Obama's presidency about executive orders being signed willy nilly. Meanwhile, this half wit has been doing nothing but executive orders since January 20th. You would swear he was ordering from a restaurant the way he has been signing every piece of paper thrown his way. Of course, the republican half wits are happier than pigs in slop cause they basically have a puppet to control. This was until all the town halls they proceeded to do around the country and the people they serve let them have it. The country has been tired of politicians for awhile and now we are a pot boiling over. They sit up there taking away people's healthcare and assholes thought he was going to fix it. What the fuck does the clown prince know about healthcare? He ran a business on daddy's money and hired people to do that. He has probably never really issued a rule truly in his life. But oh the job is harder than it looks. The same man who crucified President Obama about golfing vacations when that is all he has done every weekend since his inauguration.

Societal Maladies
Societal Maladies, How to Recognize and Treat Them, a Hypothesis It seems clear that society suffers from serious maladies that negatively impact honesty, decency and equitable and fair conflict resolution, especially in the United States. Observations during the past decade strongly imply that the cause of such evolving and expanding maladies can, in large part, be attributed to the creation, distribution and assimilation of a related series of very negative memes and memeplexes (see, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Memeplex) propagated by and through our entertainment and news media (now in too many cases seemingly not a branch of journalism but rather of propaganda and entertainment) via the quotidian programming we are exposed to on television, the cinema, literature and the media (now including social media). Not exactly an epiphany of course, our grandparents warned their children about the subliminal evils of music and entertainment of which they did not approve (remember Elvis’ hips) but perhaps it’s past time to consider the issue from a new direction.

Stuck Between a Rock & a Hard Place
It's General Election time in the UK and for approximately 21 years I voted SNP. Wasn't complacent in my choice of party and wanted Scotland to have a referendum on independence, playing the long game. Even after losing the referendum, I continued to vote for the SNP in the 2015 General Election. The Smith commission proposals were important for further devolution to the Scottish parliament. Looking back on the series of events it was actually John Swinney MSP and Deputy First Minster who was the main figure in the negotiation of Smith, what did the SNP MP's actually achieve for Scotland at Westminster ?

The Failings of Trump And Our Government
For the first time in recent memory, the United States has a sitting President who by all accounts has demoralized the office of the Presidency. Since his term began there have been crisis after crisis of internal conflicts that have all originated by Trump's own actions. Not one of his campaign pledges has come to fruition. In fact, most of these self inflicted crisis have nothing to do with the real concerns facing millions of Americans each and every day. If we consider the House repeal of the Affordable Health Care Act as a sign of things to come under this Administration, the majority of Americans will be faced with insurmountable hardships in the years ahead. It is too bad that our Founding Fathers omitted one important detail in the Constitution. The Constitution outlines that federally elected officials are exempt from voter recalls. Today, many states can recall their state and local elected officials when these elected office holders fail to uphold the duties of their office. We have seen in a recent case when the Governor of California was recalled and in a special election was voted out of office. Just think that if our Founding Fathers had not omitted that one important detail about voter recalls the public today would be demanding a voter recall to dismiss Trump as President and vote for an entirely new candidate. And, today, the most favorable candidate to take his place would not be the Vice President but Senator Sanders.
