Dear Mr. Kaepernick
Dear Mr. Kaepernick, It has come to my attention that you have signed on with Nike to do an ad campaign for them. Mostly because my Facebook is lit up with dozens of my friends and family freaking out; making drastic changes to their gym styles and posting beautiful, heart-rending posts concerning the loved ones they have lost to war on your behalf.

The Party Swap
There was something very disturbing about seeing Chuck Schumer (the Democratic Senate Minority Leader) and Dick Durbin (also a sitting Democratic Senator) sitting with Republican Senate Majority Leader McConnell when I watched the late Sen. McCain’s funeral on Saturday. Especially coming after it was reported on Friday that there was a secret backroom deal that "Charlatan" Chuck cut with "Ug Mug" McConnell behind closed doors to rush through 15 Trump appointed federal judges "so that members could go back home and campaign." That is all while he and other old white male democrats continue to try and squelch the fire and enthusiasm burning in the electorate in revulsion to the GOP and Trump.

Reason First: Worst Ways That Kaepernick Has Shamed America
Nike can do whatever it wants to do within the confines of the law. The multi-billion-dollar corporation has every right to choose what athletes represent its brand. It may be recovering from its #MeToo damage control and is trying to put all of that behind it. It is permitted to sell sneakers, apparel, and other products. It is even allowed to put the face of a loser on its thirtieth year celebration of its famous “Just Do It” campaign. Loser is the only way to describe NFL free agent Colin Kaepernick. Along with the evil message, “believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything.” The image of Kaepernick is disgusting. Sacrifice is a vice, to begin with here. His disregard for law enforcement matched with his lack of respect for the American flag and what it represents are terrible reminders of just how undignified and ignominious this football player is.

7 Steps to Resist the Termination of TPS and All Other Political Adversities
*Content warning for mentions of sexual violence “A state of shock is not just what happens to us when something bad happens; [it’s] what happens to us when we lose our narrative, when we lose our story, when we become disoriented. What keeps us oriented and alert and out of shock is our [herstory]. So a period of crisis like the one we are in is a very good time to think about [herstory], to think about continuities, to think about roots. It’s a good time to place ourselves in the longer [humin] story of struggle. ”

Reason First: Why Tech Execs Are the Neo-Heroes of the Digital Age
Bureaucrats and Big Tech executives live on the same moral spectrum. Most of them regard altruism as the ruling moral ideal. They’ll both be quick to say that their services are “bigger than themselves.” But the tech executives at least have the position of privatization over their products and services than any politicians could ever dream of in their sphere, with all of the ways that Facebook, Amazon, Alphabet, and Netflix have disrupted the system and challenged Federal Communications Commission (FCC) rules and regulations. The technology is light years ahead of any political dictate that Capitol Hill or any other government body could issue.

The Mess That Is Health Care
With the ongoing health care fiasco in the United States, we all have to take seriously where we are going with this. Any one politician can’t make everybody happy. New federal rules allow insurers to deny coverage to people with pre-existing conditions. This is terrifying for those of us with pre-existing conditions because it locks out people from getting coverage. The mess that is health care is becoming a hot mess every passing day. New rules allow insurers to deny coverage to people with pre-existing conditions, which institute annual lifetime caps.

The Blood on Trump's Hands
There is no end to the amount of suffering that is being perpetrated against the world by virtue of giving so much power to someone as undeserving as Donald Trump. The man has been coasting his entire existence on social privilege and wealth, using it primarily to better his own life at the expense of others.

"Why Us?" Say White Male Democrats
For one thing, being represented by a White man in a district that’s predominately Black and Brown and female—no matter how progressive the person—is actually not representative in the way a representative democracy is supposed to be. It’s a matter of perspective.

Trump Threatens Endangered Animals with Border Wall
President Donald Trump’s border wall will be a threat towards as many as 111 species of endangered animals. As Trump continues his presidency, his plans to build a wall along the Mexican border are not only affecting illegal immigrants crossing into the United States, it also puts many animals at risk. It is important Trump considers these species, not simply immigration in the United States. These species share the land with humans.
