We the People
We the people, we live in a very strange time, especially here in the United States. We hold a freedom that no other country has ever held. The citizens of the United States are more vocal and more able to make change than ever before in this nation’s history. Yet, we have so many people that feel oppressed and unheard. Why is that? Have we forgotten of the brave men and women that fought against the British for our independence? Have we forgotten about the struggle of our own Civil War, that at the time tore us apart, but at the end of it unified a nation under the common truth that we were built upon that “all men (women) are created equal?” Have we forgotten about the brave souls of our warriors that have fought overseas in Europe, the Middle East, Vietnam, the Pacific, Africa, and all those other places to which American men and women, whom have stepped up to defend this nation, did it by defending another oppressed people? Have we forgotten the men and women whom have died for the civil rights of all other men and women? Have we forgotten about our ancestors who immigrated to this great land? Have we truly forgotten how far we have come as a nation in such a short time?

To Senator Rob Portman: An Open Letter
Tuesday, October 30, 2018 Dear Senator Portman, Thank you for your email with regards to the message I left with your office on October 29. While I’m heartened by your concern over the deaths of the 11 innocent people at the synagogue in Pittsburgh this past weekend, I called to request that you use your position to refute the latest action taken impulsively—and many Ohioans believe with bigoted motives—by the current occupant of the White House.

We Need to Talk About What Happened in Squirrel Hill
I feel numb. I don't know how this happened, but I know why. We as a people have experienced violence and persecution for centuries that has never left. In fact, I don't think it ever will. People will use us as a scapegoat for societies failures. This is just our history as Jews, starting all the way back in Egypt as slaves.

How Free Are You?
The real issues with life in America aren't as cut and dry as most would have you believe; however, it's also not as complicated as others who lead you to believe. In America right now, the majority of the population lives either under or right on the poverty line. Many would ask why that is, and the very basic answer would be, our government. Reading on, you'll see a very compelling argument on the corruption and over powering control of the United States government.

Gun Control, Well... Gun "Control"
Gun violence has been a plague on the American society, it has come to a point where ignoring it feels irresponsible. This article was started several months ago, however, I did not finish it because I could not fully choose a side, but that is no longer the case. Guns are often glorified, in a culture of cowboy mentality, that their detrimental impact on the people of our country has been brushed aside. This cannot continue. The lives lost to this scourge are those of our neighbors; and encouraging the continued peril of our loved one's is not American spirit nor right, it is barbaric.

When It Comes to Divisiveness, Trump Is Not the Only One to Blame
America is having a bit of a crisis right now. It is deeply divided, and it only appears to be getting worse. The most extreme case is the fact that a man, identified as Cesar Sayoc, has been arrested as a suspect in sending crude, homemade explosives to a variety of left-leaning critics of President Donald Trump including former President Obama, Hillary and Bill Clinton among others, as well as CNN.

A National Crisis
Throughout history nations sought to gain security by protecting their borders. Many a time the process of protection involved military intervention. The United States though has had a long history of border protection without military intervention. We have been a safe haven for millions of immigrants for over 100 years. It is what has made this country unique. Now, the escalation of refugees coming from south of the border has again put the spotlight on immigration and border protection. Many have begun to realize that the timing of this crisis is by no means just happenstance. It could very well be an orchestrated ploy by the Republicans to use this crisis as a means to an end. Using tactics of fear and intimidation to push an agenda by its own nature is contrary to what the United States has stood for.
