Who Said You Could Do That?
Everyone has a different perspective of dance. Some see it as an art form used for celebrations and competitions; for others, it's an escape from the reality of their problems, a way for them to express their feelings to one another. There are so many ways that dance could be interpreted, but they all are associated with a positive feeling. But imagine if someone decided that you shouldn’t be allowed to do the one thing that makes you feel happy and free just because of your culture, the color of your skin, or just the fact that you have no racial ties to the origins of that certain dance. Is it really okay for just anyone to do the belly dance or twerk?

Baraboo High School (WI): Modern Racism and Nazi Culture
The internet has absolutely exploded this past Monday, understandably so, as the photo shown above surfaced on Twitter and began to circulate rapidly. In the photo, a group of high-school Junior-aged boys join each other in a prom photo 'posing' with a "Sieg Heil" stance—the victory salute that was used infamously by Nazis at political rallies—which in name roughly translates to "Hail, my leader!" or "Hail, victory!" in English.

Chrysalis in Cabinet
Brexit has been described as a tumultuous time in British Politics. This is mainly because the mainstream press has decided against using a more accurate set of four-letter words to describe the situation, but nevertheless they have been talking about it. The front pages of all the mainstream papers have soaked themselves in as much non-information about Brexit as possible. While Brexit is something which should be talked about, it could be argued that the United Kingdom’s exile from Europe could be suffocating more important news stories. Examples of these are the police taking the government to court due to more budget cuts, the NHS being sold to as many money-hungry tax-avoiders as possible and Phillip Green being revealed to be exactly what everyone expected him to be. This list of stories being overlooked because of Brexit is far too long to be written out, so I am going to focus on one particular incident, which took place during Prime Minister’s Questions this Halloween.

A Booming Economy: A Word of Caution
The United States economy seems to be in a period of prosperity. Our economy is booming, but there may be problems around the corner The United States Economy is expanding too fast for its own good. This is because the economy is at full employment, inflation is starting to rise, gross domestic product is growing at an alarming rate, and investors have been bullish for too long and are starting to worry about the impending consequences. The Trump administration has pushed the economy too far by introducing extremely aggressive tax strategies. It is only a matter of time before Washington’s greed catches up to them and we enter another economic downturn. It is of utmost importance that we pay attention to these issues at hand. We have to write to our congressmen, get out to vote, and overall, make sure the economic future of our country is in good hands.

Nationalism Is Not Patriotism
On Veterans Day this year, we celebrate 100 years since the Armistice that ended World War I. America's European allies gathered in Paris this past weekend to honor and thank our fallen soldiers, those who lie forever on European soil after defeating Germany in 1918. It was the war that was supposed to end all world wars, but only two decades later America would once again send thousands of soldiers to fight, and to die, to rescue Europe from the Nazi menace.

An Open Letter to School Shooters
Dear you. Just you. No names, no recognition, no separation of yourself from the others. Just... dear you. Was it their happiness that offended you? Perhaps their innocence? Maybe they weren't so innocent. Maybe they bullied you on a daily basis. Maybe they got away with too much and you, too little.

Rep. Pelosi, the House Is on Fire and You're Talking About Dinner?
Sorry Rep. Pelosi, but you did not win the House. The DCCC didn’t win the House. The Resistance won the House. The Resistance made up of rational Republicans, Independents, Progressives, Liberals, and Democrats. This is not your win. Your run-of-the-mill, kumbaya, work across the aisle blather is exactly why, we, the resistance is telling you to step aside and let our new representatives run this thing.
