Kamala's Potential VPs.

Who Will Ms.Harris Choose as Her Vice President?

By Nicholas BishopPublished about a year ago 3 min read
Queen of The Democrats: Kamala Harris.

Vice-President Harris seems to have been quiet. Not much has happened at Kamala Harris' end of the White House. One gets the impression that Ms. Harris was consigned to a broom cupboard somewhere. Wheeled out now and again, to flank President Biden. Of course, that wasn't the reality for Ms. Harris but it seems like that.

Kamala was given the job of stopping thousands of migrants from entering the US across the border with Mexico. The Mexican border has always been a flashpoint as illegal migrants mainly from Mexico try to enter the US. Some make it, some are detained and a tiny minority based on their circumstances can stay. Many are sent back as many are just opportunists looking for a better life. Others are running drugs for cartels. However, in the last few years, others are coming from other destinations. Some come from other countries in Central America. Others from South America and other places in the world. However, Kamala seems to have failed in her job to stop the flow of migrants into America. She was asked if she had ever been to the border. Ms. Harris replied she hadn't even been to Europe, let alone the border. Well, that wasn't her full reply, I added the last bit up, however, you get the drift. It seemed a stupid thing to say as if Kamala didn't care about her job and didn't care about the consequences of her dereliction of duty. Trump and Vance will have a field day with this. Trump will now have to change the modus operandi of his attack. Biden was his target. Now all that will have to be thrown in the bin. Trump in his wildest dreams never thought he would be facing Kamala. Now, Trump's campaign will be focused on taking down Kamala Harris. Trump has called Kamala "as dumb as a rock", and one can see why he would think that. However, Kamala seems articulate and intelligent as she steps from behind Biden's shadow. Many important Democrats have endorsed her as have many celebs like George Clooney. Now Biden has thrown in the towel funding for the Democrats has increased. Trump might live to regret when he underestimated Kamala.

Conversely, ex-president Obama has stopped short of endorsing her. Nancy Pelosi former speaker of the house has also not endorsed her. Some Democrats including the ones named above, think the Democrats should have a proper contest to choose their candidate. However, with Biden nominating her as successor it seems Kamala will be endorsed at the Democrats conference too. When that happens and it will, Kamala will be the 'Queen of the Democrats'.

Ms. Harris has already taken a side swipe at Donald Trump. She has said she dealt with all kinds of felons. She has compared Trump to these crooked people. Ms. Harris served as the District Attorney of San Francisco from 2004 to 2011. Then as Attorney General for California from 2011 to 2017. She was elected as Senator in 2017 and that role lasted until 2021. She then was elected as the Vice-President of the United States.

Trump used to aim at Biden's age difference with him. Trump is 78 and Biden is 81, it's not much of an age difference. Now, Trump is the old man in the game. His Democratic rival Kamala Harris is 59, 19 years younger. The age tables have turned on Donald Trump. Karma through Kamala has made Trump the aged one in this contest. This is why we should all be careful what we say. Ms. Harris' age as compared with Trump's may not cut it though. When Americans vote on who they want to be their next president age may come into it. However, other factors will come into play as Trump and Harris compete for the White House.

So who will Ms. Harris want her running mate to be? Well, several names have come up:

Josh Shapiro.

Gretchen Whitmer.

Mark Kelly.

Roy Cooper.

Tim Walz.

Gavin Newsom.

Andy Beshear.

JB Pritzker.

Pete Buttigieg.

As Kamala's campaign against Trump kicks off we will soon know who her pick for potential vice-president will be. It's the American people who will decide on who will occupy the White House. Whether it's Trump in the White House again or the first female President Kamala Harris either of these will steer America's path for the next 4 years.
