Evil Among Us, Evil Within

Reflection of Events and Inner Searching

Evil Among Us in 2025

I’m sure you’ve heard the saying before; we all have, every person on the planet has the capacity for both good and evil. Sadly, we’ve seen blatant displays of evil recently here in the year 2025. Everything from the racist human garbage that killed a woman on the subway just because she is white, while on his 15th time out of prison I might add. To the more recent murder of Charlie Kirk by a different worthless piece of human trash, simply because the killer disagreed with his political views. Of course, these are just the most recent in an all-too-long series of violent, pointless, hate-fueled, evil that has plagued the United States, and the world for some time now.

These acts and more are all senseless and a clear and obvious display of the evil that humans are capable of. I have long since recognized and feared the evil that exists in me. At least the potential for evil if I were ever pushed to actual war or had the overwhelming need to defend myself or my family from death. Granted, it would take such circumstances to drive me to that point, but I do sometimes fear a glimpse of what I would be capable of doing… capable of becoming. Perhaps that is the mark of a good person; the fear of an evil reflection of oneself.

Evil Reactions

It is worth mentioning that the reactions of some people online and in their personal lives, in addition to being pathetic and disgusting (at best), are also a clear example of evil. Far too many people have, and are still, celebrating the two murders mentioned above. Celebrating the loss of life, especially the loss of innocent lives, is a human way of screaming at the world to announce how evil and worthless you really are as a person. Not only is the life that was lost a tragedy, but each of these hate-crime victims have families that they have left behind. People who needed them. People who loved them and love them still. Several lives in every case that were forever destroyed out of ignorance, hatred, and yes… pure evil.

This is what some celebrate? Those people are no better than the murderers themselves. These people should face justice for what I would consider a crime. To start, it is defamation due to the words being said about the victims. Furthermore, I believe that the evil being shown should be punishable by law as well. Of course, already we see these bottom-dwelling garbage humans being tried in the court of public opinion. Is that enough? I’m not sure. We will each have to decide for ourselves on that one.

Is There a Solution?

Guns don’t kill people, ignorant and hateful psychopaths with guns do! It is far too simplistic an answer to say that we should all just learn to get along. Honestly, it is far too unrealistic and out of reach as well. As long as there have been humans, there have been evil acts committed by humans. Sadly, that will likely never change. Also, despite what far too many uneducated (about the world) people say, trying to ban guns is certainly not the answer either. In fact, if more people were packing heat (legally) then crime would go down, I’m sure. The consequence for criminals becomes much higher when they are almost guaranteed to get shot if they try to harm someone.

Perhaps we should bring back hangings for capital crimes. Not the drop them and let it break kind of hanging, the lift them from the ground and let them know what’s coming kind. I suspect that would cause some to think twice before taking such a cowardly act of evil and violence. We have gotten too convinced that we should be humane and kind to criminals. You commit a crime like murder… you’ve forfeited your right to humane and kind treatment. Or perhaps the simplest answer is to execute every criminal guilty of capital crime in the same way that their victim was killed. In cases of multiple victims, choose the one that died the worst and that will be the criminal’s punishment.

Closing Thoughts

Are my suggestions for punishment an example of evil? Yes. Yes, they are. Maybe that is what is needed. Maybe it is just an example of my own evil lurking inside that wants justice and true punishment for the evil I see in the world. Maybe, but I suspect many of you have the same thoughts. Maybe it is just the evil in us all? Or… maybe it’s just a nation (or world) of people who are sick and tired of this human-trash getting let off easy. Either way… it’s not right and it’s not wrong. It is justice, however. We clearly need more of it too… true justice has become a lost commodity. We as a species have to do better.
