A Frightening Reality
The Clear Signs Before the Appearance of Dajjal

We live in a time filled with trials and confusion. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) clearly warned us about the signs of the End Times, and among them, the greatest trial will be the appearance of Al-Masih ad-Dajjal — the False Messiah. He described Dajjal as the biggest deceiver in human history and urged us to seek protection from his fitnah.
In this article, we will explore the clear signs that will appear before Dajjal arrival, based on authentic Islamic sources.
1. Widespread Ignorance of Religion.
As the End Times approach, people will become increasingly unaware of Islamic knowledge. The Qur’an will be abandoned, hadiths will be forgotten, and many will identify as Muslims without practicing the religion. In such ignorance, people will be easily deceived by Dajjal’s lies.
2. Neglect of Prayer and Mosques.
The Prophet (PBUH) said that a time would come when people would stop attending congregational prayers. The mosques will be empty. In this state of spiritual weakness, people’s hearts will become vulnerable, making it easy for Dajjal to mislead them.
3. Dominance of Falsehood.
Lies will spread rapidly, and it will become difficult to distinguish between truth and falsehood. People will trust liars and doubt the truthful. This environment of confusion will allow Dajjal to present his false claims as truth.
4. Natural Disasters and Famine.
Before Dajjal appears, there will be extreme famine. Rain will stop, crops will fail, and people will suffer from hunger. During this hardship, Dajjal will offer food and wealth, which will attract many to follow him.
5. Wars and Global Unrest.
There will be great wars and widespread chaos in the world. Muslim unity will be shattered, and everyone will fight for personal gain. Dajjal will use this disorder to present himself as a false “savior.”
6. Weakening of Faith (Iman).
Although people will still call themselves Muslims, their hearts will be distant from Allah. They will chase wealth, fame, and power. When Dajjal shows his so-called “paradise” and “hell,” many will believe him out of fear or greed.
7. Truth Will Be Rejected.
People will begin accepting falsehood as truth and rejecting the actual truth. When Dajjal claims to be “god,” many will believe him without question due to their spiritual blindness.
🌟From Where Will Dajjal Emerge?
1. From the Land of Khorasan.
“Dajjal will emerge from the land of Khorasan. He will be followed by seventy thousand people with faces like shields.”
(Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith: 4077)
Khorasan includes parts of present-day Iran, Afghanistan, and Turkmenistan.
2. From the East (Al-Mashriq).
“He will emerge from the East... He will emerge from the East...”
(Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 2942)
This confirms the direction of his emergence.
3. Currently Chained on an Island.
The hadith of Tamim ad-Dari (RA) describes Dajjal being chained on an island between Syria and Iran.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “That was the Dajjal.”
(Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 2942a)
🌟How Will Dajjal Appear?
1. He will first present himself as a righteous man.
2. He will perform false miracles — like bringing rain or reviving the dead.
3. Many people will be deceived and follow him.
4. Whoever believes in him will lose their faith.
5. He will finally be killed by Prophet Isa (peace be upon him) with the support of Imam Mahdi.
🌟What Will Dajjal Look Like?
A young man with red skin and curly hair.Blind in one eye — the eye will look like a swollen grape. The word “Kafir” will be written on his forehead, readable only by true believers.
Though he will perform strange miracles, his ugly appearance will expose his lies to those with strong faith.
🌟How to Protect Ourselves?
The signs of Dajjal’s arrival are already visible — loss of faith, spread of lies, and chaos in the world. But there is hope.
“Whoever memorizes the first ten verses of Surah Al-Kahf will be protected from Dajjal.”
(Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him)
“O Allah! Protect us all from the trials of Dajjal and every other fitnah. Keep our hearts firm on guidance. Grant us true faith and let us die as believers.”
