Times Up on Toxic Fashion Masculinity
With the rise of feminism, it seems no surprise that the fashion industry has played a significant part in the social commentary and representation of both femininity and masculinity. Whilst gender-bending A-listers like Timothée Chalamet, Billy Porter, Lu Han and Harry Styles are stepping out in fearless fashion choices, the continuation of the traditional ‘suit and tie’ look seems to be turning into a redundant form of dress in 2020.

You Deserve Boldness
As many times as we hear that 'this is an unprecedented time,' just like anything else, it has to travel from your ears to your brain and then to your heart and your gut for you to truly understand what those words mean. The realization that no one on our planet has experienced what we are all currently experiencing is one that must be individually felt, at your own pace, in your own body and spirit. There is no Wise One to turn to for answers. Mom & Dad have never been here before, and even our government officials scramble breathlessly in the face of this pandemic, trying this and trying that -- because there is no roadmap. We are all standing, apart but together, trying to figure out what to hold onto.

All Dressed Up and Nowhere To Go
Slot machines, showgirls, and cocktails oh my! I walked into the windowless arcade in five inch stilettos and a gallon of Crystal Geyser water in my right hand. I was feeling focused and in a good mood, despite the cigarette smoke that rudely insisted on creeping inside my leopard print dress. The air tasted like steak and sounded like chaos, which if you aren’t familiar with, sounds like a symphony of ice cubes in cocktail glasses, heels on marble floors, oohs and aahs of luck and defeat, and the shrill, unhappy laughter that always seems to well up from somewhere slightly to my left. It was a typical Saturday night in Las Vegas, and I was heading to work.

The Unstoppable Rise of Ecommerce
Aside from the handful of visionaries, ecommerce was hard to imagine a few decades ago. Yet, here we are, living in a world where we carry millions of online shops around in our pockets. This manner of shopping has stormed the world and is moving forward with an unstoppable pace. So much so that data suggests that 95% of retail purchases will be made via ecommerce by 2040.

7 Most Stylish Nollywood Actresses Over 50 (Photos).
These women prove that age is nothing but a number. If there's one thing Nigeria isn't lacking, it's women in entertainment. I think something I find interesting is the fact that when the feminist movement really picked up, especially in Hollywood and people standing up for more women in films, especially women of a certain age, I realized that I as a Nigerian was actually privileged. Why? Because we never lacked women on our TV.

Sweet Persimmons Vintage Clothing
Having the opportunity to profile Amandia Aurand’s small business, Sweet Persimmons Vintage Clothing, was both a pleasure and a privilege. After years of friendship I have witnessed the evolution of Amandia’s dream and how she has continued to use her love and natural abilities to create, inspire, and work through whatever life throws her way. Amandia’s love of fashion shines through in every piece she adds to her shop, which has been incredible to see. Sweet Persimmons Vintage Clothing has touched the lives of so many members of Amandia’s community. She even selected me to model some of her favorite pieces, all while we laughed and sipped champagne at the beach. I’m so excited to share Sweet Persimmons Vintage Clothing with the community, especially during the current socioeconomic climate created by COVID-19. While small businesses struggle, Amandia has again exemplified here ability to both overcome adversity while also giving back to her community. The following interview was conducted in her beautiful backyard, outside of the studio which houses her entire collection of vintage finds and trusty sewing machine.

How to Throw a Virtual Clothing Swap
Have you ever heard of a clothing swap? The name is somewhat self explanatory, but in a few words, it is a get together where people bring clothes or accessories they no longer want and swap them for something else. It’s a perfect way to get rid of some of those items you always think you will wear (but never do) and add something new to your wardrobe.

Medical Masks, But Make It Fashion!
Now that coronavirus has gained pandemic status, wearing masks outside of a medical setting has become more popular. Regardless of your reason for wearing a mask, it is important to understand what they will protect you from, and what they won’t. Most fabric masks worn without a filter won’t offer protection from viruses, bacteria, other disease causing particles, allergens, or even scents and smells. They might reduce the exposure, but they won’t necessarily stop you from getting sick. There are a few exceptions, but as a general rule, you can still contract a virus despite wearing a mask. Furthermore, you can pick up viruses and bacteria on your clothes, and they can then enter your body once the mask has been removed.
