Bulgy Sleeves Begone!
Puffy sleeves need to go the way of the dodo. I am not sure why anybody feels a need to increase their bicep area with layers of billowy fabric filled with air. Perhaps, many are trying to convey a secret message. Maybe it is a subconscious attempt to show their bosses and co-workers that they have spent hours and hours on tedious computer work in their home offices. Thus, they have developed super-hero sized arm muscles.

The Odd Phenomenon of Micro Handbags. First Place in So 2020 Challenge.
I genuinely feel like everyone should express themselves however they want, and honestly, if you feel like rocking a wool vest with sweatpants and crocs, you do you! I love fashion and all its weird and shocking moments, but all fashion lovers have their least favorite trends that they feel should have never happened. I think for many of us, it is the micro bag trend.

2020 wears no clothes
2020 was a lot of new things that we don't need to talk about right now...too soon, but there weren't a lot of new fashion trends. Shocking statement, i know! Everything that these influencers wore (or didn't wear) came from another era we already lived. Juicy Couture sweats, flared yoga pants, Doc Martins, scrunchies, even mullets made a come back! Most of the outfits you pin to your 'cute clothes' board on Pinterest most likely is a remake of something my mom wore in the 80's or 90's. (nothing wrong with that, love you mom) But we've come to a point of constant recycling of style, (which of course is great for the environment) and I haven't seen something new since "on fleek" eyebrows in 2014. And even then, eyebrows have been evolving since the start of time. So then there's the question, what style/fashion trend was truly 2020? ...Nothing. No clothing at all.

Let People Dress Raggedy
I grew up in a low income household so my idea of “good fashion” has always been whatever the hell I can afford to wear. I didn’t do expensive, brand names, fancy jewelry or designer handbags. Thankfully, I also lived in a place where school uniforms are the norm and there was no mounting pressure to wear the latest trends to impress your friends on the way to Physics class. Everyone dressed the same. For this reason, the idea of shifting fashion trends has always intrigued me. You know, each season dropping in, bringing a series of environmental changes but also a host of “new” and unique ideas about what’s en vogue. Maybe this time around it’s chunky sneakers, low rise jeans, chaps (yikes!) or corsets as tops.

Dreadlocks are not Masks Straps
Fashion is not all about what you wear, but how it is worn - and I believe that hair/hairstyle and basic hygiene qualifies. With 2020 in place, there has been an amazing lax in hair, hairstyle and general hygiene upkeep. Let us start with the hair.

Nail Influencers
The trend started as a sneeze and became viral. We’ve all been enticed to click on a thirty-second trend video in twenty-twenty. Amung the countless TikTok challenges and makeup eye flair, there's a certain kind of trend that could live out it’s last days which is the impossible-nail-tutorial-that-one-can-do trend. You’ve seen it. I’ve seen it. I fell victim to the burash of cubical mania — the colors and all of the eyegasmic glitter. But guess what? No one can do it.
