Kitchen Trends 2025
New kitchen design ideas in 2025
The world of interior design is ever changing. Kitchen styles change depending on trends, innovations and personal preferences.
That isn’t to say there’s a right or wrong style choice when it comes to kitchens. Our kitchen showroom, for example, has a variety of options which can suit individual bespoke preferences. Our team also can design a trending kitchen for any space using our state of the art CAD software.
But as we look into 2025 and beyond, we pick out some kitchen trends which will follow us and remain across the next decade, if not for longer.
Sustainable materials
These days the environment is a hot topic. Many designers are looking for what could be more sustainable and therefore better for the planet.
There is a growing trend with people wanting to use materials such as cork, recycled glass and even concrete for worktops.
These materials aren’t just better for the environment, they offer a bespoke kitchen flare which won’t yet be seen in most households.
In keeping with this trend, kitchen designers are looking at eco-friendly appliances such as water saving technology and energy efficient appliances.
Minimalist kitchens
Air fryers are so last year. Okay, maybe they are here to stay, but many are turning to storing these devices in a cupboard instead of sitting them on the kitchen worktop.
Other appliances such as toasters are also being banished to the cupboard and only brought out when needed.
And what about that microwave? Can you live without it now the air fryer is such a life saver?
Adding to this trend, kitchen designers are looking at other ways to maximise space including plug sockets which rise from the worktop only when needed.
Open spaces
This trend has been seen for a short while but is becoming more and more popular. Forget the living room, kitchens are becoming the place for families to hang out and for those looking to entertain.
This trend is particularly prevalent with new build and renovated houses. The kitchen is now a kitchen diner with space for a TV and sometimes even a sofa.
Kitchen islands are also being transformed. With cooker hobs incorporated into the island, you won’t have to have your back to the room any longer.
Earthy colours
We’re back to the era of being bold. Think emerald green or deep sea blue.
Or what about a bold but safer option of sage green or terracotta?
Pair these colours with contrasting materials such as dark wood or metallic splash backs to really make your kitchen stand out.
Open shelving
Although we just mentioned hiding everything inside a cupboard, open shelves can create a statement piece whilst still keeping within the minimalist trend.
Shelves should be kept fairly clear, with only a few carefully chosen pieces to display. This could be a vase, ornament or perhaps that special bottle of gin or whisky you’ve been saving.
Try to stay away from piling the pans or cooking books all onto one shelf. A simple space is a relaxed space.
Retro and vintage styling
A new year doesn’t always mean newer, more modern looks.
Retro furnishings will also be the in-thing in 2025.
Dark woods and grey fabrics will be in and antiques are also becoming more fashionable as decorations.

This list is not of course extensive. Take a look at our design options and see for yourself. You may even start your own kitchen trend!
