Myths About Marines That Civilians Believe
Among the strongest groups in the United States Armed Forces, the Marine Corps are truly the toughest. They're the ones trained individually to become riflemen, the first group to go into battle, and the ones responsible for conducting amphibious operations with the Navy. Overall, the Marines are pretty much a group of total badasses who have a fierce passion in their beliefs and keeping our country safe. Since there's so much they do and a lot of things we may not know about the US Marine Corps, there's also a lot we assume about them.

Memes That Perfectly Explain Being a Military Spouse
If you think dating a typical civilian is hard, don't even think of being a military spouse. It's one of the hardest kinds of relationships out there, and often ends up being a very lonely, rough way to live life.

Old School War Movies Every Recruit Needs to Watch
There's no shortage of good war movies, from the likes of the more well-known crowds like Saving Private Ryan and Letters from Iwo Jima, to more less frequented titles, such as The Hunt for Red October and Good Morning, Vietnam, there's a vast array of names to choose from when in the mood for some patriotic entertainment. Especially if you're a newly minted recruit, or even a longtime veteran, these following war films lend credence to the brotherly bond so attributed to the battlefields of old, and how this firm familiarity between soldiers seemingly outlasts the test of time. This is one of the many benefits of being an army recruiter, talking good old war stories to the youth, exhibiting the qualities of a natural born leader, and identifying with the quintessential essence of the warrior in your heart.

The Greatest Military Bluffs in History
You can have the mightiest of soldiers, the most weaponized battleship, the more adequate position, or even the most elite leader, but that doesn’t always win you the battle, let alone the war itself. Brawn can only get you so far, but brains—that’s how you leap into the minds of your enemies and tear them apart from the inside out. This is how some of the most important wars in human history were won, by using the enemy's mindset of victory against them and by making the opposition believe in a total farce. Much of Sun Tzu's The Art of War, one of many books recommended by the US military for aspiring soldiers, discusses this very attribute in warfare, which is the creation of a fictitious diversion in the hopes that your enemy falls victim to one of two things: hubris or stupidity.

Movie Review: '12 Strong'
The story of the Horse Soldiers of Afghanistan in the wake of the September 11th attack is pretty damn remarkable. As told in 12 Strong, 12 American soldiers became the first American soldiers to hit back at al Qaeda by riding horses over some of the roughest terrain on the planet and taking the fight to the enemy in a way that hadn’t been seen since Roosevelt and The Rough Riders.

Hell's Memory
Two nights have passed since Private Douglas was gunned down, nearly sawed in half by the relentless wave of lead raining down on us. He is gone, yet, I sit here watching his chest rise and fall as if air were feeling his lungs, not the rats burrowing deep eating his flesh. Closing my eyes magnifies the sound of tearing muscle and claw scraping bone. Another wave of bullets, another cry pierces the night as the dull thud of cartridges hitting their mark reminds us all of this hell we can’t escape. Captain barks an order to advance.
