To Be a Military Spouse
Before I met my husband, I was one of the many who thought about joining the military. All the benefits and time traveling while also learning some pretty badass skills were extremely appealing, but I was never convinced that I had what it took to be a soldier; so I never enlisted. Plenty of my friends did though and that was my first taste of military life. I got a feel for the schedules, the time during deployments, and some military jargon. But what didn't hit me was everything the family went through while these people were gone, especially wives and husbands.

Love in the Military
My name is Katie and my boyfriend’s name is Christopher. He is a Loadmaster in the United States Air Force. We’ve been together two and a half years. That’s honestly a pretty good length of time even for a non-military relationship. I’m writing this article today to share my experience of what it’s like being a military spouse and to hopefully give advice to help out other military spouses or even just couples in long distance relationships.

10 Signs You Were in the Military
As a major military force in the world for many decades and a number of generations, the United States has many active soldiers and veterans who have served their country with honor and pride. Though some veterans are easy to identify, others are a bit stealthier. While many are proud to celebrate their service with hats, bumper stickers, fatigues, BDUs, or dress uniforms and other items that reference their time in the military, not all display their accomplishments overtly. However, there are certainly other, albeit subtle, indicators of someone's past or present military service. Like anyone, a careful study of these past and present military personnel can identify and reveal certain patterns of behavior that soldiers all share in common. These hints may not all be readily apparent at first, but a closer look will be a dead giveaway of the signs you were in the military.

Marine
Marine By: Kenaniah L.M. Karahuta Friday; October 12th, 2018 A marine never lies, never cheats, never steals. A marine never compromises or gives up the fight. Lacking in the ability to accept defeat, as well as, lacking in a personal definition for the meaning of the word, “surrender.” A marine gives their all in all that they do. Focused only on successful mission completion, with protecting the lives of fellow marines and when able, those of innocent people displaced by death and destruction so unanimously ubiquitous in today’s world. Marines remain always faithful. Faithful to country, to family and, most importantly, to the morals and ethics and, values of their beloved corps which they serve with honor and distinction. Embodying the values of the corps, “honor, courage and commitment." Honorable, a marines’ integrity is beyond reproach. Courageous in all things a Marine, even when nervous, apprehensive or down right afraid... never cowers from a fight or shies away from a challenge. Marines remain vigilantly and diligently at the ready for whenever, however and, wherever adversity chooses to reveal itself. Found face to face with it the marine coldly stares back, revealing no fear, no weakness. Signaling to the whole world world and his challenger that Marines stand their ground and they never back down.

Sam Houston Against Disunion
Have you ever had an unpopular opinion? Here's a famous one from Texas. Sam Houston stands with his convictions to have Texas remain as a part of the Union States. The uproars of those who seek to separate under the guise of protecting their own properties are called out and dismissed as Sam Houston, despite being ill at the time, gave his Anti-Secession Speech onSeptember22, 1860. Sam feels strongly that such an action would undo everything for which the state and its people have worked tirelessly with sacrifice of the highest degree. The Union was, of course, a vital tool by the Texans which Houston himself fought with to defeat the foreign power of the Mexican Government. He reiterates that the Union and its structured government has turned Texas into a dense and stable empire which has continued to prosper under the protection of an army and navy. The actions of the secessionists will only foster bad reputations with foreign powers all around the world because the basis of their actions is rooted in the protection of slavery.

How to Survive Military Relationships
OK, so your S.O. (significant other) is in the military. First, I'd like to thank you for choosing to embark on this crazy journey! Second, you go Glen Coco. Being in a relationship can be tough work. It involves a lot of caring, sharing, sacrifices, and learning. BUT—being in a military relationship is all that and some; especially when your S.O. is frequently sent off for training and deployments. We won't mention the days, weeks, months, and sometimes years spent apart because of this. Don't get all negative nelly on me just yet though—because if you have the right tools under your belt, you can get through anything.

R212178—Russell
Closing up my late Dad’s home has involved sorting through piles and piles of paperwork. There were folders of bank statements, tax returns, utility bills and letters. All of the bureaucratic detritus collected through life that was important at the time and retained ‘just in case’ it might be needed well after the statutory time limits. Post mortem that is all it is; bureaucratic detritus ready for recycling.
