This isn't right, I was moving now its dark and Christ, it hurts. Maybe if I open my eyes it would help. No that's worse, eyes shut and try and work this all out.
I can hear voices, all around me, not sure how they are all on my bike, I remember i was riding my bike. That's a start, so why am I lying down surrounded people and why does everything hurt?
I can still hear voices but they can wait, I need to work out whats going on first. I have my helmet on, I can feel it and it might explain why its so dark. Right , time to take it off. Not sure the people are happy but its my head.
Right, helmet off and try opening eyes again. It hurts but if I squint its only agony. I cant move without it feeling like I am being attacked with a lump hammer. I can see someone by my foot, wonder where my boot went, Im sure my foot shouldn't be pointing that way.
There's a man by my side holding my hand, I think there's someone holding my head. So that explains it, I crashed. I cant see my bike, I can see a large bush so I'm not in the road. Wonder if they carried me here or I got thrown here.
Hang on, I had people with me, sure my family was following me. I cant move my head but if I swivel my eyes I think I can see them, my dad needs to knw, my mum .The man says your family are here and they called your parents, you've been in an accident and need to lie still, helps coming.
Then I hear him ask the lady holding my foot if there's a pulse still, that doesnt sound good. She says yes and the foots warm, that sounds good. She tells the man she was a nurse, and the lady by my head is a nurse. The man says thats good, he is a carer . He did joke that before he got there the lady next to me was a vet.
He asked if I was allergic to anything, I managed to say hay fever because I was in a bush. There's now more people around me, but only the 2 ladies and the man are talking. I ask about my bike, they say its on the road, its a bit bent but might survive. I asked what happened, they say I hit a car and was catapulted 30 feet to where I landed. They tried to make me feel a bit better because apparently I narrowly missed a sign post and had landed next to a concrete path.
I asked how injured I was, the man looked me up and down , I could see it was bad. He said broken ankle, broken arm and possible broken shoulder as that's what hit the car.
I told them I was wearing my new biking jeans, biking jacket and new boots. Well one boot at the moment. The man said it probably saved me from much worse, unfortunately he guessed the ambulance man would be along and need to chop them off.
I dont know how long I laid there, the man kept talking to me. We managed some jokes and he talked to my family who looked scared. I quite like being centre of attention but would rather be the ones looking down.
Blue light started flashing near me, the man said the paramedic is here. He said its the man with the drugs, take them all. He came over and the man and ladies told him what happened. He gace me some lovely drugs and then produced the scissors. It hurt because my clothes were designed to protect but very quickly I was there in my pants and vest.
Then I saw some more people in green, they all chatted about what to do. A policeman looked over too and then walked off. The lady said he was going to the car that crashed into me.
The people in green designed that lying under a bush in my underwear wasn't a good place to be. So while the man stayed with me they twisted me on to a stretcher and then went into the ambulance. The man said good luck and then he went to talk to my dad.
I was wondering how much I was costing everyone, all their time and offers of help. Then about 20 feet above us I heard a helicopter hover and then land just past us. Obviously this was my transport arranged for hospital. As the crowd broke apart a doctor arrived and I got some even nice drugs and off I went
