The Blissful Ignorance

Turning of the tides

By Caleb EdmondsPublished 4 years ago Updated 4 years ago 3 min read

Your mind goes first, to the what is, to the what could be. Just a taste to stray will always bring back the what was. The more you take in, the more your consumed within yourself. As you go deeper you find the what could have been. Here is where you first find it. Ignorance, you start to lose yourself the further into it you journey. At this point you start to forget about the haves. Finding yourself blinded by those little blissful wants.

Everything that was always meant to stay buried in the depths of your subconscious as demons, makes waves to your frontal lobe. As it crests, the proverbial ship your abord begins to sink. Staring into the depths scared to be pulled under by the evil that had always become you. What you had previously seen as demons slowly changes into a reflection of yourself.

Being able to see in a new light, you humble yourself for strength. The new found understanding of yourself helps you find acceptance, and realization that you can change. You start scalding yourself for every unjust action. As well as for portraying such an ugly heart at times.

Here is where you find it, the soul. Your true persona, who you truly are and really want to be. Just before that lies the blissful part of your ignorance. The what ifs and the what is not, the irrationality of our actions that you or I play into daily. It truly is an ugly consistency of what only seems inescapable.

These are the things that come to take from us, that blissfulness is strong when it comes to take just as it is swift. The pain equal to the actions on the path we have chosen to feed our demon, it will always match that devil’s hunger.

They always come for the things that hold the most value, making them seem worthless. It takes every ounce of love you have, twisting, and manipulating it into the ugliest kind of hate. Something so strong and powerful it does not just go away.

This kind of hate tries to get us to love all the ugly that lies in the nothingness. The devil lives here so he can feed on our empty hate. This, this dark lonely place he finds every little thing to feed his hunger. Thriving in such places where he can pick at your soul, and play with your mind. He can rattle your tongue with all the hateful things he puts there.

You will find all the should’ve said and the cold (I am sorry) that follow all the hate we spray. All this hate sharpens our words being able to cut through the heart faster than a bullet hitting the flesh. This is the ignorance that quietly bids time to take & jump, residing in the blissful choices that we should not partake in.

Trying to reclaim your soul from such a place is no easy task. It takes hard-work, grit, and effort. The only thing that can save you from this hate is love. May our souls be warmed by our children's laughter. Their smiles bringing joy to our days, and the sunlight to our eyes in hope that we can share our children's harmonious outlook once again.

May the pitter patter of their feet start the beating of the drum that stopped so long ago. Hoping our children's happiness is what saves us all from our self. I pray the devil never try's to take any of gods virtuous gifts.

These little things are the most beautiful things of all. It is what the devil comes to take, the things that hold the most value in the richest of hearts. If you let the devil play you can always be torn between the bliss and the cultivation of a happy heart and soul.

May the light always hold the greater side of your soul lest you be lost in the darkness. Peace, Love, and Hope
