humanity
Mental health is a fundamental right; the future of humanity depends on it.
Meditation – The Right Way and The Wrong Way
It is fascinating to observe how the world is going and how people think, but it is also sad because there is so much self-created human misery. As my understanding of how the ego operates in our mind becomes more apparent, my perception of reality becomes sharper. When comparing ancient civilizations with our present ones, I see no progress in understanding our minds. They created an escapist world then, and we are doing the same thing by following them now with a bigger and better one with our advanced technology. Thus, as we become more out of touch with reality, one does not have to be a prophet to predict mental illness increasing in societies worldwide.

This Too Shall Pass
Nothing stays the same and nothing lasts forever in the physical world. Life itself is a cyclical process, an ongoing progression of changes we refer to as evolution. Time marches on and space is infinite so everything is constantly shifting, both in spatial position and in linear time, from moment to moment. Everything is in perpetual motion, existing as energy on a quantum level.

The Fire Next Door
For someone born just past the middle bit of the last century, I find myself managing this 21st-century work world with a certain amount of confidence that’s mostly bravado (just between us). So after a short lull while one of the bosses was traveling I wasn’t completely surprised by the sudden flurry of emails that hit my account late this afternoon. I may not have been ready, but I wasn’t surprised.

The Answer
The House The rusty water made a tap tap tap sound on the stainless steel of the sink. Somehow it totally misses the dirty dishes piled in and around it waiting for the motivation to get them cleaned. Somehow the dripping sink is the only sound in the drafty old house.

I'm A Tree (Part II)
A few weeks ago, I wrote a piece called "I'm a Tree". The main theme was that, like trees, we humans go through the seasons in our lives over and over. Each season brings something new, and as we move from one to the other we experience transformation. Winter (literally and metaphorically) may leave us bare, in the cold and dark hours, but we will resist and we will emerge ready for spring and a new beginning to come.

Gardening Can Make You Happier And Improve Mental Wellbeing
If you are not an avid gardener, or perhaps you are dipping your toes into the world of gardening for the first time, you may not be aware of the psychological benefits gardening can offer. When you think of gardening, you don’t need to think of a pristine, landscaped, humongous garden. Instead, think of sowing a seed and watching it grow and blossom into a beautiful fruit or flower. Think about planting wildflower seeds to create a haven for wildlife. Imagine cooking with the fruits of your labour that ou have grown in your very own garden. Sounds good, doesn’t it? For me, gardening feels wholesome and slow-paced. It makes me appreciate what I have in my life right now.
