Dating Someone With Depression & Anxiety Disorders
Has someone you are dating recently came out to you and said they suffer from a mental illness like: depression or bi-polar disorder and anxiety? Well, you are very luck first of all. Many people with these illnesses usually hide themselves and keep things very inward. They often wear masks out in public to cover the truth of who they are. But, once in a blue moon a person will be bold enough to trust someone to the point of being comfortable enough to remove the mask and unveil their truth.

Pretty Little Pearls
Pretty Little Pearls I had been inspired to go out and have fun. “Some fun”, I muttered as I grabbed a towel and turned on the hot water. I climbed into the shower and stayed there until the warmth was gone and my fingers were shriveled. Even that shower couldn’t wash away what had happened that night. Once I found the strength to pull myself away from the tub, I found myself staring into my mirror trying to make sense of everything.

Addict Halfway House to Apartment SCAM!!
This is the middle of my road to recovery. I am incredibly proud of how far I come in these last 9 months. I am so proud to say that I have been clean and sober for 9 months and have not slipped once. And I'm not knocking on wood because I'm simply not going to let that happen. The biggest thing that I have learned is that no matter what is thrown at me, I am in control of my actions. I cannot control other peoples behaviors, but I can control mine.

3 Tips for Handling Shopping Urges
Now that we are in the midst of the holidays and all of the sales that come with them, let’s talk about a symptom of Borderline Personality Disorder that is not often addressed but is just as damaging as some of its other impulsive actions: binge shopping. I personally struggle with shopping when my emotions are high (which, let’s be honest, with BPD my emotions are generally high ALL OF THE TIME) and my shopping gets particularly bad when the holidays roll around and sales begin to pop up. My resistance is not very high, and I have gotten into serious trouble with money in the past due to my spending habits. My excessive spending is not a symptom I like to talk about very often due to the stigma that surrounds money and credit card use, but it is something that I think is important to talk about around this time of year as we are struggling with various impulsive behaviors, such as eating, substance abuse, and of course, spending. To help with this, I want to give you three alternatives you can try out if you suffer from a shopping addiction and begin to feel the urge to shop during this time of year. My hopes are that they help you out and make managing this symptom that much easier on your own.

I will be hiding behind the Fire Station
I will be hiding behind the Fire Station. These are the last words I spoke that I can clearly remember before I actually hid. I hate even thinking about saying those words. I hate thinking about the moments that led up to and followed those words. So, let me rewind to get you to this point so you can clearly understand this situation.

I am more than my Limbic system
Mind over matter. Is this really the case? 2020 has been the year of change; with people adapting to new ways of life, different daily routines and constantly finding ways to to keep their minds active. However (and I am sure Im not alone in this) it can be hard to stop the mind from becoming over active.

The Unexpected Hobby That Helps My OCD
For as long as I can remember, I have suffered from Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder – however, it was not until this past January that I was diagnosed and came to realize that my behaviors were linked to this disorder. OCD is one of the more highly stigmatized disorders in our society, and it is because of the beliefs I had surrounding OCD that I didn’t think that my behaviors qualified for a diagnosis. That was, until my psychiatrist explained me to what OCD really is.
