Fake It Until You Make It
Daily Meds, or Daily Meditations, are quick-hitting bits of practical advice to contemplate before starting your day. If you can resist the temptation to check your phone or turn on the news first thing in the morning and, instead, start your day with quiet, focused reflection, then you will begin attracting the highest quality outcomes into your life. Such is the basis of the Law of Attraction.

Cortisol and Stress
Cortisol is closely associated with stress. It is a hormone which is the key element that works in the body's stress response and often measured as an indicator of stress. Cortisol has a vital role in the body's functioning, secreted by the adrenal glands. Primarily, it aids in the following functions to generate; proper glucose metabolism, regulation of blood pressure, insulin release for blood sugar maintenance, immune function and inflammatory response (Scott, 2018).

Adulting: Preparing Individuals with Autism
The transition from adolescence to adulthood does not always receive as much attention as is needed. Often transition services are limited, leaving individuals with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) without the level of preparation needed for “adulting”. Areas such as leisure skill development and vocational preference are often not fully addressed. We need to begin preparing individuals with ASD as early as possible for the future and place an emphasis on lifelong skills in our curriculum planning.

Anxiety has stopped.
All my life have I been a worrier. Don't really recall when it first started, but as far as I remember I was afraid. As I grew up, I kept adding new things to my fear list. Fear of snakes, fear of heights, fear of dark blue waters, fear of making a fool of myself, fear of speaking my mind.. until I realised I was suddenly afraid of rollercoasters, which I used to love.

"Don't You Miss Drinking?". Top Story - April 2021.
I guess the best way to start this is just to dive right in. My name’s Emily, I’m an alcoholic and I’m very open about it, which, to each their own it’s anonymous for a reason, I’m just not a good rule follower. I know for a fact that it catches people off guard when I offer up this little morsel about myself. How do I know? Because it’s usually followed by “really?!” (yes really, thanks for asking), or “Oh no you’re not!” (oh, but I am), or my favorite, “but you don’t look like an alcoholic!” (now tell me, what exactly does an alcoholic look like?).

My digital detox journey
I have heard about a digital detox many times before. For a long time I never put much thought into it. Even when I got a 30-day digital detox in a subscription box. There are 30 cards, and you do one a day for 30 days. Not only about social media, but it also has activities that do not require any technology, such as doing a recipe from an actual cookbook. When I first got them I put them aside thinking, oh that's nice, and didn't think much about it after that. When we went into the second lockdown it was winter, and so it was very cold where I am. Being stuck at home all the time, and really unable to go anywhere, well it can get fairly boring. I was finding myself filling my days just endlessly scrolling on social media, wasting hours and days. I found that I wasn't being present. Everything I did I always had my phone open. I realized that I needed a change when I would put my phone down and leave the room. Then my daughter would always bring my phone to me, like I had to have my phone on me.

An Exploration of Conspiracy's
I have been asked to discuss my thoughts and feelings as to why people tend to believe in abstract conspiracy theories. This is such a huge and important topic as there are so many different conspiracies amongst the world and there tends to be huge ridicule towards the people who entertain these ideas. I shall try to remain impartial as I delve into the underlying reasons as to why I believe it tends to be specific people/characters that indulge in these concepts and who strongly believe in them.

Living Outside the Box of Regret and Shame
I guess for me my life could be compiled of many embarrassing moments. Embarrassing and regretful may be a mild expression for the feelings I have felt. For the last 10+ years I have lived with a Bipolar 1 diagnosis. I have revealed a plethora of characters that I didn’t even know I had in me. At one point I was so crazy I thought I was God and Satan simultaneously. I guess you never know your potential fully until you have gone through such a phase. I have been hopeless. I have been broken but the truth is that is the place where healing can come in. I choose to release the negative and let go of all the emotional drama that this drama queen has conducted.

Best Ways to Quit Smoking
Most people are aware of the benefits of quitting smoking and it is more far-reaching and universal. The risk of lung cancer is reduced by 60% after 5 years of quitting smoking and after 15 years of quitting no difference persists between smokers and non-smokers. The risk of a heart attack is reduced by 50% after just one year of quitting and after 10 years there is no difference between smokers and non-smokers in this regard.
