The Persuasive Power of Words
The Story Newly landed in Italy, we gorged ourselves on everything Italian. The sights, sounds and food were all to die for. Pizza, pasta and peperonata became our daily fare. Even the local cats and dogs could be seen enjoying huge bowls of spaghetti. The country, the weather and the food were all delicious. Not to speak of the wonderful wine … but I digress.

If at First You Don’t “Succeed” . . . Fail, Fail, Again
The Story I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed. — Michael Jordan

A Slave To My Mind
When I was eight years old there was a voice constantly nagging in the back of my mind, but it wasn’t my voice. It controlled the strangest aspects of my life: where I could set my clothes down, and what and how I would eat . The voice told me what cup to choose from from the cupboard, because all the other cups had poison laced around the rim of the cup as if they were lurking, ready to end my life. The voice demanded me to wash my hands a million times throughout the day. The voice put unrealistic thoughts of my family dying in my head as a result of certain insignificant actions I would perform. For the readers of this paper, you might be frowning in confusion at the possibility that I might have been the weirdest kid to possibly roam this earth; in my brain however, all the thoughts from the voice in the back of my mind seemed perfectly logical. Although my mind convinces me these thoughts are “normal,” when I say it out loud, or even while I’m writing these words on paper, I am able to sort out the logical thoughts from the illogical ones (like what cup to choose from the cupboard). You see, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), is not a logical disorder. As quoted from my wise therapist John, “OCD does not speak logic-keys,” or in other words, a mental disorder riding fully on emotions and anxiety is truly not a good mix for the creativity of the mind.

How is ultra-low-dose naltrexone clinically important?
Ultra low-dose naltrexone or naloxone (ULDN) refers to a dosing spectrum when less than one μg quantity of the naltrexone is used. Its mechanism of action is linked to a bimodal cellular response to opioids. Additionally to their inhibitory Gi-coupled response, concomitant and mild Gs-coupled stimulatory response are also induced by opioids. The stimulatory response is sharply exclusive if tiny quantities of opioid blockers are used; otherwise, it progresses steadily with continuous μ-opioid receptors stimulation. This response cascade of Gs-coupled opioid receptors has been linked to prolonging the action potential, tolerance, hyperalgesia, and dependence.

Symptoms of ADHD in Adults
Adults with ADHD may have other co-morbid disorders such as depression, anxiety, OCD, substance abuse, or depression, therefore it is crucial to evaluate the patients' medical history thoroughly. A thorough mental health evaluation will help a physician to distinguish between undiagnosed psychological illnesses, which may be contributing to symptoms of ADHD, and actual ADHD related behaviours. A person may have undiagnosed bipolar disorder, substance abuse/ dependence, or depression if they are exhibiting ADHD symptoms. A thorough evaluation will help determine if the patient's symptoms are medically related to ADHD or symptoms of other disorders.
