Dissecting lucid dreams

Allowing you to achieve dream freedom

Stolen Dreams

I believe that you usually have the habit of dreaming when you sleep, but every time you wake up, you forget the previous dream.

So is there a way to remember your dreams, or directly control your dreams?

In 2010, the movie "Inception" directed by Nolan gave a very brainy conjecture, is to let the dream maker into other people's dreams, steal secrets from the subconscious, and recreate other people's dreams, this is the plot described in the movie "Inception".

Psychological masters such as Freud and Jung used to drive the development of psychology and psychiatry through the analysis of dreams.

Over the years, however, the study of dreams has always been difficult to shed the color of conjecture. Because dreams are subjective experiences and something difficult to remember and grasp, dream research has also struggled due to the lack of means to measure and record them.

However, scientists have not given up, and have achieved a lot of results, today we will talk about how to control their dreams and whether control of dreams can be harmful to the body.

Whether this belongs to the psyche or the imagination, one cannot yet explain. And the material in dreams is derived from the real life we are experiencing but is confusingly put together.

We are in such a completely passive state that we have no idea whether it is a dream or reality, and when we wake up we forget all about it. This makes people inevitably wonder if dreams are unreal. Could it be a so-called past-life memory? And will it be some kind of mysterious force in the real world to manipulate our brains?

This is a little scary to think about, but on second thought, since the dream images, sounds and thinking are from our own, then we just need to retain a certain amount of consciousness in sleep, and can not control the dream.

This statement may seem contradictory, but there is some theoretical basis for the search. 2018, Australian scholars have found that taking 240 mg of vitamin B 6 before bed for 5 days in a row can help people remember more of what they dream about.

But the conclusions of this study have also been questioned, because the usual dose of vitamin B 6 is 10 mg three times a day, and the general public without scholarly monitoring is unlikely to risk overdosing to satisfy curiosity.

In addition, previously scientific studies have shown that at least 23% of people have been aware that they are dreaming while sleeping in the past month.

This type of dream in which consciousness is retained is called a lucid dream, also known as a clear dream, and was first proposed by Dutch physician van Eden in 1913.

In the lucid state, the dreamer can have the ability to think and remember in the dream as in the waking state. Some people can even make the dream feel real, just like the real world, and can also change the dream environment anytime and anywhere, which is simply a remake of "Inception".

Many people even believe that lucid dreaming is in the realm of parapsychology. Here is another concept to introduce, what is parapsychology?

Parapsychology is different from psychology, its alias is soul science, psychology. Perhaps because it is all about studying something that cannot be scientifically proven, it is a discipline that is not recognized by the mainstream scientific community.

So back to what we are going to say today about lucid dreaming, next we will teach you how to get into such a dream state and how you can control your dreams.

First of all, if you want to dream, you need to sleep. The International Academy of Sleep Medicine divides sleep into five stages, which are the sleep-in period, light sleep, mature sleep, deep sleep, and rapid eye movement period.

The rapid eye movement period, also known as 'REM sleep', is a period in which the eyes show rapid fluttering. If you wake up during this period, you will clearly remember that you were just dreaming, so the 5th sleep period is the focus of expert research on dreams, and it is also one of the lightest periods of sleep.

If we want to have lucid dreams, we also need to choose this period.

Adult REM sleep' generally occurs 4-5 times, with the first 'REM sleep' occurring 70 minutes after falling asleep, followed by several 90-minute cycles. So to lucid dream, we must find our own 'REM sleep' time, and then constantly instill in ourselves the idea that I am dreaming, so that we can maintain an independent sense of self in our sleep.

With more such thoughts, it will also follow us to the dream world, which comes to the stage of waking and dream control.

Waking dreams may seem simple, but they are also very complex. Psychologist Stephen Faberge has proposed a mnemonic induction method that is a relatively effective approach.

It is divided into 5 steps, the first step is to set an alarm clock for 5 hours before going to sleep because after you fall asleep for 5 hours are greatly likely to be in 'REM sleep, then the alarm clock can wake you up at this time so that you have self-awareness of wakefulness.

Then comes step 2, after the alarm clock wakes you up, you have to try to recall the dream you just had, not miss any details, and even record it.

Step 3 you need to lie down and plant in your mind the belief that you are dreaming.

Step 4 is to imagine yourself back in the previous dream, remember the details of the previous dream, and repeat the previous details.

Step 5 is to repeat steps 3 and 4 until you fall asleep.

When you plant the belief that you are dreaming, it will be brought up repeatedly in your mind. Then even in the dream world, it becomes fodder for your dreams.

But this varies from person to person, some people may take a few days to wake up from a dream, while others may take longer, and still, others may not change, depending on how much you feel when you recall the dream and how deep the belief is.

When you are aware that you are dreaming, it is a lucid dream, and at this time you need to be careful not to get too nervous and cause yourself to wake up too early.

What we need to do is to strengthen the self-awareness in the dream, which can be used in a variety of ways to prove that you are not in a dream. For example, pinch yourself with a native method, or bite your fingertips to see if you feel any pain.

After the waking dream and dream check, you can do whatever you want to control the dream, you will open an unrestrained dream world, where everything is dominated by you.

You can create a world of your own with your imagination, and you can even do all kinds of supernatural actions. For example, fly, you can fly out of the earth fly out of the universe, fly to the unknown, and experience the feeling of nothingness.

In the film "Inception" directed by Nolan, there is a mysterious gyroscope, if the gyroscope keeps spinning, it proves that you are in a dream.

Since this is the case, we also need a gyro in the process of dream control, to remind ourselves at all times this is in the dream, or else a moment of dream control for a moment, but if you can not wake up that is not the end of it.

And if you are lucid dreaming for a long time, often pacing back and forth between reality and illusion, your brain cognition will be confused, can not tell what is reality and what is a dream, which will produce a dream within a dream and multiple dreams, that is, wake up in the dream.

This experience is amazing, as if you are caught in a loop, the gyroscope will keep on looping, but it is not a good thing.

More such thoughts follow us to the dream state, which brings us to the stage of waking dreams and dream control.

Waking dreams seem simple, but they are also very complex. Psychologists have proposed a memory induction method, which is a relatively effective method.

This sounds like our ancient immortal cultivation in the kind of fire into the devil, so even if we learn how to enter the lucid dream, but also to control the time and number of lucid dreams, after all, into the nightmare will also have an impact on our physical and mental health.

And a night without dreams is the best sleep, after all, we are tired all day, and at night what we think about should not be how to control our dreams, but to rest well. As for the study of lucid dreaming, let's leave it to the experts.
