Every night at midnight, the purple clouds came out to dance with the blushing sky, seeming to sweep the night sky off its feet. Their dynamic encounter creating an aura of vibrant colours, spiralling, flickering, sending their flow of energy down towards the earth beneath. It was a sight that captivated anyone who was lucky enough to witness this intimate celestial union. Eyes becoming transfixed skyward as the clouds twirled and swayed, lost in the music of the universe.
One such soul drawn deep into the expansive beauty was young Aditi, a dreamer whose imagination would take her off to faraway places only she could see. Experiencing with every fibre of her being, these magical lands full of promise and wonderment. To Aditi there was something more to this nightly dance. She had always felt a strange, yet comforting connection to the clouds, as if they held a secret that only she could understand. Tonight, as often she did, she gazed out of her bedroom window and felt a flutter in her chest, a sense of wonder that left her feeling both exhilarated and serene.
As the years passed, and Aditi grew up, life took her on many adventures, but her fascination with the purple clouds never waned. She would often sit outside in her small garden long into the evening, staring up at the sky, lost in thought. Her friends and family would frequently tease her, calling her the "Cloud Watcher," but Aditi didn't mind. She knew that there was something magical about the clouds, something that she couldn't quite put into words.
Life was busier now that Aditi had moved to the city. She had bought a small house on the outskirts, where she was still able to enjoy the dance of the night sky, unpolluted by the bustling city lights. As she walked home with the sights and sounds of the day’s toil fading behind her, she noticed something strange. A small, black bird was on the path ahead of her, its wings spread wide. At first, Aditi thought it was injured, but as she got closer, she saw that it was staring at her intently, its dark gleaming eyes fixed on hers.
"Hello," Aditi said softly, slowly reaching out her hand, down towards the bird. The bird didn't move, but continued to stare at her. Aditi felt herself being pulled into the bird’s gaze. Time seemed to stand still as she experienced a sudden sense of recognition, as if she had met the bird before. She blinked, bringing herself back into the moment and reached out again. This time, the bird hopped gently onto her hand and moved up to perch on her shoulder. Its delicate body felt so light, yet secure and its feathers were warm against her skin.
As Aditi continued to walk home she couldn't shake the feeling that there was something important about this little bird, something that she was meant to understand. And then with a wave of warm energy, like a huge smile moving through her entire body she knew. She stopped and took a long, deep breath in and as she breathed out she felt a tremendous feeling of calm, her whole body relaxing as she truly understood. The little bird was a reminder of the connection she had always felt with the clouds. Just like the bird, she was meant to soar, to explore the vast, endless sky. And just like the clouds, she was meant to dance, to twirl and sway with the wind, to embrace the magic of the unknown.
Aditi reached home as the sun was beginning to go down, and as she walked through the front gate, the little bird flew off, disappearing up into the purple clouds. She smiled once again, knowing that she had found a renewed sense of purpose, a new way of understanding the world around her. And as she looked up at the sky, she felt a sense of peace. She was part of something bigger, connected to limitless possibilities, knowing that she was not alone, that the clouds and the sky were always there, ready to dance with her whenever she was ready fly.
