Let's take Maslow's definition as a point of reference: a self-actualized person, a person open to the world. His behavior is natural and spontaneous, simple and expressive. This person knows how to control their emotions, but at the same time to explore their full range - to be calm, sincere, cheerful, and active.

Some characteristics of a mentally healthy person include the ability to maintain relationships, to have a sense of contentment, the ability to learn and adapt, to be able to work, play and rest, of life. A mentally healthy person can interact with other people in a way that is respectful and understanding.

Mental health is important because it helps a person to achieve their goals in life while maintaining a healthy relationship. A mentally healthy person can initiate relationships that could be beneficial to himself and the other party involved. The individual knows how to communicate with other people in a way that promotes understanding and encourages mutual respect.

When faced with a stressful situation, a mentally healthy person does not fall apart and does not engage in destructive activities. He or she can cope with stress in a way that does not harm anyone. A mentally healthy person has no difficulty learning new things and can easily adapt to dynamic situations at work or in his personal life.

Self-confidence and high self-esteem are other characteristics that a mentally healthy person is likely to exhibit. This is because he or she knows about strengths and weaknesses and knows how to use them for success.

Signs of a mentally healthy person:

1. Clear and appropriate perception of reality - is the specific trait of healthy people. This person finds multiple possibilities for personal development, sees the new and the interesting in the simplest things, is constantly able to learn and grow, feels when a person lies, and understands where the problem is and what the solution may be.

2. A self-actualized personality accepts the world as it is, accepts himself and all his faults, does not make tragedies out of failures, does not regret the past, and does not blame himself for his actions. This person does not tend to look like anyone else, he does not demand the attention of those around him, he is natural and he is in harmony with his inner world.

3. This person's behavior is natural and spontaneous. She is aware of the conventions of the world around her and accepts them so as not to hurt the feelings of others. If he does not agree with something, he calmly expresses his position. This man has his own opinion and principles.

4. The task of a mentally healthy person is to develop himself and his work, to which he is fully dedicated. This individual spends his free time meditating on philosophical topics.

5. A self-actualized person is self-sufficient, does not depend on anyone, nor on friendship or communication. This man feels comfortable in solitude because it gives him the chance to grow and develop. He does not depend on other people's opinions, he does not fall prey to anxiety and panic, he controls his emotions and he is aware of his responsibility for his decisions and actions.

6. An ordinary person needs people to raise their self-esteem and to experience love. A self-actualized person does not need words of praise to feel fulfilled.

7. A person who always develops has a wonderful quality - the ability to enjoy small things, events, people, to find the unusual in ordinary things, and to be permanently happy.

8. Such a person's relationships with others are always deep, based on strong feelings. At the same time, his circle of friends is small because he is very selective with the people around him.

9. He has the same respectful attitude towards all people - regardless of their social background, gender, education, faith. He is democratic in this regard.

10. He has a developed sense of humor, which mocks a man's arrogance. He doesn't joke often, but his jokes always have a meaning and a subtext.

11. He is original and creative. He tends to create, to invent things.

12. This person does not fight against the imperfections of the world but tries through his every action to make it a better place.

If you have recognized yourself in some of the qualities described above, then you can consider yourself a mentally healthy person and you have no reason to worry.
