Beware of Instagram Scams:

Vishal Sharma (@shop with luxury stuff) Scam

I'm sharing my recent shopping experience with an Instagram account called Vishal Sharma (@shop_with_luxury_stuff). I hope this post serves as a warning and helps others avoid falling victim to similar scams.

I have also added a clear photo of this person of that when you see his reels you may be able to identify him quickly.

Vishal Sharma Scammer:

How It Started

I came across this account and decided to place an order despite some initial skepticism. The account had 45.5K followers, which seemed credible. However, I did notice that comments on all posts were turned off, which should have been a red flag. Still, Vishal Sharma appeared genuine, so I proceeded with the purchase.

I placed an order for 4 shirts (2 Lacoste and 2 H&M) at a total cost of ₹2950, which I transferred via GPay. I'll include screenshots of the payment and chats in this blog for reference.

The Issues Began

After placing the order, I repeatedly asked for a tracking ID. Eventually, Vishal provided one from Anjani Courier, but when I checked it, the tracking ID turned out to be invalid. Screenshots of this discrepancy will be shared below.

When the package finally arrived, it was shipped via Tirupati Courier - not Anjani Courier, as initially claimed. Upon opening the package, I discovered that none of the shirts matched my order. Instead, there were 3 entirely different and lower-quality shirts that I hadn't ordered.

Uncovering the Truth

I immediately contacted Vishal Sharma to resolve the issue. He claimed that he had mistakenly shipped my order to Indore and promised to share his address for a return. However, since then, he has stopped answering my calls and has been unresponsive.

To dig deeper, I checked the Instagram account details and discovered that this account's name had been changed 8 times. This strongly suggests manipulative practices to dodge complaints and rebrand after scamming others.

Also, i have added the What's app business information of this person.

Key Takeaways

This experience has been frustrating and disappointing. I'm writing this review to warn others, especially in India, about scams like these on Instagram. It's essential to be cautious when shopping on social media platforms.

How to Avoid Such Scams

1. Check for Red Flags

Be cautious of accounts with turned-off comments, unusually high follower counts, or inconsistent engagement. These are often signs of suspicious activity.

2. Verify the Seller

Search for genuine reviews or testimonials from other buyers. If the seller’s reputation is unclear, it’s best to avoid making a purchase.

3. Use Secure Payment Methods

Opt for payment methods that offer buyer protection, such as Cash on Delivery (COD) or transactions through trusted e-commerce platforms. Avoid direct bank transfers or payments through apps without dispute resolution options.

4. Investigate Account History

If the platform allows, check for past username changes or discrepancies in account details. Frequent name changes can indicate attempts to evade negative feedback.

5. Document Everything

Keep records of all interactions, including chats, payments, and tracking details. This documentation can be crucial if you need to report the issue to authorities or seek legal recourse.

I have included all relevant screenshots below to provide a clear and detailed account of my experience. These include:

1. Payment Proof: Screenshots of the GPay transaction showing the ₹2950 payment I made for the order.

2. Chat Conversations: Screenshots of my communication with the seller, including the initial discussions, confirmation of the order, and my repeated requests for a valid tracking ID.

3. Tracking Discrepancies: Screenshots of the invalid tracking ID provided by the seller and the eventual tracking details from Tirupati Courier, which contradicted the original information.

4. Delivered Package: Photos of the package I received, clearly showing the incorrect items that were sent instead of the 4 shirts I had ordered (2 Lacoste and 2 H&M).

5. Account Details: Screenshots highlighting the suspicious behavior of the Instagram account, including its history of 8 username changes, which strongly suggests manipulation to evade detection.

These visuals serve as undeniable proof of the scam and are shared to educate others about such fraudulent practices. By documenting every step of my experience, I hope to empower other shoppers to recognize red flags and avoid falling victim to similar scams. Stay vigilant, and shop wisely!
