If you're a writer, creative/artist, or an everyday human being getting through this thing called life chances are you enjoy a sip of whiskey or beverage of your choice.

Some like it neat, some prefer it on the rocks. Personally speaking, a neat glass of whiskey on a brick winter evening always sets the right temperature.Weather you're having a drink while watching Netflix, celebrating a special event, or it's just one of those days. Here are a few that you can't go wrong with!

1) Jameson

A personal bias when it comes to this popular Irish whiskey.

With its balanced flavor of sweet and spicy nutty vanilla and smooth finish you can easily enjoy this after a satisfying meal or with a mild cigar. Maybe the fact that it's triple distilled creating that mellow smoothness which will go down almost like water. If you're more of a cocktail person then you can always keep it simple with a Jamey and Ginger Ale (Canada Dry of course!!) topped with a lime wedge or if you wanna get more in a summertime mood try a Jameson margarita. Great alternative if you're not big on tequila. From a branding standpoint the stained green glass and maroon top will appeal the eye of any party, function, or event!

2) Johnnie Walker Black Label

An original g that blends well and stands out elegantly on any shelf. Scotch is definitely for the veteran whiskey drinker.

A bit more pricer than Jameson, Johnnie Walker Black Label projects the image of a gentleman's choice of drink after a big deal has been closed or a special celebration. If you have a friend who is a fan of scotch a bottle of JWBL will bring a special kind of joy for the appreciated. A smokier flavor with the right hint of sweetness to give it a perfect balance. Make no mistake about it, do not get caught up in going for the blue, gold, or green label because of the higher price. Most rookies assume a high charge means higher quality of taste which is false. Go with black label my friend!

3) Maker's Mark

Normally bourbon would be the last blend of whiskey on a personal note but if you're planning on selecting one, Maker's Mark is that choice.

Like Jameson, Maker's Mark pride themselves even more on their signature red wax sealed bottle top. With it's malty sweet flavor of toffee, vanilla, and butterscotch, Maker's comes off more as a winter beverage you would enjoy at a holiday party. With 45% alcohol by volume it packs more of a punch than the previous two (Jameson, JWBL). You won't have to break the bank either as this ranks in a similar price range as Jameson.

Runner Up

Jack Daniel's

How could we speak on whiskey without mentioning that classic black label with serif font writing?

Jack Daniels will forever be a standard in the whiskey world with it's signature sour mash flavor which the recipe was created by Nathan "Nearest" Green. A black man born into slavery and emancipated after the Civil War. He became the first African-American distiller on record in the United States. Jack Daniel's will also be known as an any occasion whiskey that comes in actually lower in cost compare to the three above. You can always count on them to put out a boxed gift set with glasses for just under twenty bucks give or take.

Bottom line is you can never go wrong!

"Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whiskey is barely enough."
