The Tipple Tattle: Bonneville Brewery
About 30 minutes outside of Salt Lake City, nestled in the small town of Tooele is a great craft brewery called Bonneville Brewery. Now, Utah isn't traditionally known for their alcohol but with a new generation of brewers on the rise, Utah is quickly becoming fertile ground for the growing industry. Bonneville is what I would describe as the perfect brewpub with a great balance between innovative brews and delicious eats.

Malbec from the Land of Dreams
In the central area of the arid, southern reaches of Argentina, there is a rare oasis: the Río Negro Valley. An ideal place for growing grapes of great concentration, given the low humidity which goes all year round (to a 30% max!) and barely 7 inches of rain a year. Sounds hard and uninviting, yet its nickname would never give that away: "Land of Dreams." That is the nickname it goes by at Bodega Noemía.

Best Rooftop Bars in NYC. Top Story - June 2017.
Prior to my current job, I used to be a food critic for a number of publications. During my tenure as a critic, I would go to restaurants almost daily to either practice my reviews and do submissions, or actually do an assigned review.

10 Things I Learned from 30 Days of Not Drinking. Top Story - June 2017.
Mocktails will save your life. As a casual wine drinker (it's 5 o'clock somewhere), I had to immediately find a substitute beverage for my evenings and social events. Sparkling water became my go-to, either alone or with juices and fresh or frozen fruit (still served in a wine glass for old times' sake). La Croix and cranberry-apple is my staple, but don't forget about smoothies and any (virgin) summer cocktail. When out at the bars, soda water and a lime will keep anyone from asking you where your drink is.

Changing the Way We Drink. Top Story - May 2017.
In the last few years the craft spirits and liqueur scene has exploded with a number of fantastic producers creating high quality, interesting beverages. In a world where the choices are so varied, I wanted to take a look at one brand that is pushing the boundaries of what spirits can be, and with it, changing the way people drink.

Michter's Straight Rye
There is nothing better than cracking the bottle on a new rye whiskey, except possibly for when I crack the bottle on this old favorite. Michter’s Spirits hit it out of the park with both their Straight Rye and Small Batch Bourbons. No surprise coming from a company with a winery background, but boy did they learn the whiskey business fast! You see, I’m a snob about my whiskey. If it isn’t made in Bourbon, Kentucky you’d better damn well not call it bourbon around me, and if it has cinnamon, or any other flavoring, I will pour it out and scatter spelt and salt.

Bars With The Worst Patrons In NYC
Bars have a lot of work to do when it comes to cultivating the kind of experience that people would want to have. In an ideal bar, the drinks will be incredible, the food will be amazing, decor will be spot on, and everyone will always have a good time.

Top Low Calorie Alcoholic Beverages
Most people love to drink, but they don't love what happens to their waistlines where they do. The fact is that most alcoholic beverages will end up wreaking havoc on waistlines, and as such, are heavily advised against by nutritionists.
