fact or fiction
Is it a fact or is it merely fiction? Exploring the myths surrounding the effects of alcohol beyond the classic 'beer before liquor, never been sicker'.
The Cost of Independence
Establishment of British Rule in the Indian Subcontinent British entered the subcontinent in the 15th century as traders. They established the East India Company to facilitate their trade in the subcontinent. At that time, the magnificent Mughal Empire (a prominent Muslim Empire) was ruling India and the majority of the population was Hindus, Muslims, and Sikhs. After the death of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb Alamgir in 1707, Mughal Empire started weakening due to internal and external issues. English men gradually started interfering in politics and exploiting the resources of India in the name of trade and economic development. In 1857, Muslims, Hindus, and Sikhs fought a war of independence against the British but due to an untrained army, lack of coordination, and funds, they lost the war. The British became the sole owners of India in 1858 and occupied all the Indian provinces after killing the entire royal family during the Indian Rebellion of 1857. The last Mughal Emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar was sent into exile.

Lost Memories
My head was pounding and I felt as if I'd been hit by a freight train. I was disoriented and I wasn't particularly sure where I was. I looked around and realized that I had been sleeping on my buddy Mark's pool table in his basement. As I looked around the room there were people passed out all over the room. It smelled of whiskey and stale beer combined with the revolting smell of vomit. How did I get here? I thought to myself as I climbed off the pool table and rushed to the bathroom, barely making it before I puked.

What is it with the supernatural and unknown?
The age-old question that we all want answers to is, What happens when we die? Does our spirit or souls live on? Do we just cease to exist? What happens to our pets, animals that had been hunted, killed on the roads? Where do we all go when that time goes? What about those odd lights in the sky? Are they a plane or a UFO? Was that bigfoot in the woods or just a hairy bear people have just mistaken for bigfoot?

Wine Down
Wine Down by Mary Haynes Andy was an old soul, a romantic renaissance man, at least that's what everyone told him. He had many friends; almost everyone he met liked him immediately. He made a point of prioritizing social time with friends and colleagues from law school, even though he didn't fully understand the games people played.

Dark Guide
You know I hate it when I can’t find anything. Well, let me correct myself. I hate it when I am desperately looking for something and it’s the 9th hour and I have procrastinated looking until the last minute. Often it is also when I was too lazy to put things where they belong so that if the need arises in the future, I wouldn't be in the situation I am in right now. What is that you ask? I am about to lose my damned job, well, that is if I don't lose my mind first. Somehow I lost that dark guide. What is that you ask? It is a little black book that contains a lot of valuable information. My boss keeps track of everything in that book. I keep it locked in his office in the safe that looks like a stack of books on the bookshelf and as of 3 hours ago, it was not there.

10 Signs You're an Alcoholic
The sun shined the wrong way through your disheveled blinds, waking you from your stupor as you sweat your way through your sheets. Somewhere your alarm clock is going off; you're late for work, and your stomach is churning bile over and over at the bottom of your throat. You're counting the number of times your headache can pound inside your head until you're ready to get out of bed, and you taste blood running from your cracked lips as you pull yourself off your pillow. Swinging your legs off the bed, you try to stabilize yourself on your end table, knocking over beer bottles and soaking your carpet in alcohol. Now the race is on to get to the bathroom before you wretch all over your bedroom, tripping over clothes and empties from the night before. Admittedly, I've done this. It might even be safe to say the majority of people have done this. If you do this every morning though, it may be one of the signs you're an alcoholic.
