5 Cocktails with Seriously High Alcohol Content
Cocktails are usually mixed from various spirits, alcoholic beverages, fruit juices, soft drinks and ice. This results in an independent, often fruity taste that puts the alcohol taste in the background, making it difficult to estimate how much alcohol you are actually drinking. Today I would like to share a list of high alcohol drinks that should be drunken with care. The following cocktails when done well can be, simply put, dangerously tasty.

The spicy delights of a Bloody Mary
Hemingway thought it was “worthless” to make less than a pitcher of Bloody Marys. While I agree in spirit – pun intended – in practice I make do with a glass. Why did lockdown call up a craving for a Bloody Mary? Maybe because I could tell myself it was almost more of a snack than a drink (and healthy at that! Tomatoes! Celery!) but maybe because a Bloody Mary makes me think of my Mom, who loved them and taught me to drink them. I lost her over a decade ago, my dad a couple of years before that; but they are present to me whenever I’m in the kitchen, and as I mix my Bloody Mary I can hear my mother’s ice clink in her glass.

Sipping on a Long Pepper Cocktail
Spices are wonderful additions to any cocktail bar. They make useful garnishes, but they can be part of the base flavor of a cocktail as well. One spice that I always have on hand is the long pepper. This is a fictional web series I created for my Multimedia Communications Performance course at the Academy of Art University in 2016. For our midterm, we had to create a two minute "How To..." video. The only thing I could think of was cocktails. This piece was shot in the spring, that's why I chose Mint Julep. It's a spring time drink and very popular this time of year beacause of the Kentucky Derby.

Myths About Alcohol You Shouldn't Believe
If you’re of above legal drinking age, or for some of you, even if you’re below it, you’re likely to know exactly how it feels to go to the bar and order your first alcoholic drink. The excitement and buzz that comes with it, ahead of a night that’s usually packed full of more twists and turns than an episode of Game of Thrones. Chances are you’ve also heard some big claims made about drinking and everything that comes with it, so we’re here to separate the fact from the fiction with ten myths about alcohol you shouldn’t believe.

Renee's Bar: Web Series
This is a fictional web series I created for my Multimedia Communications Performance course at the Academy of Art University in 2016. For our midterm, we had to create a two minute "How To..." video. The only thing I could think of was cocktails. This piece was shot in the spring, that's why I chose Henny and Ginger ale. It's a spring time drink and it can be devoured any time of day or evening.

Peruvian Pisco and the American Consumer
Peruvian Pisco. What is it? Pisco is Peru’s national alcoholic beverage. It is a type of brandy distilled from wine in a copper pot. It is then left to rest in metal or glass for three months, but it isn’t aged. The Peruvian Pisco Sour is the classic way to drink Pisco.
