At the beginning

A "Call Me by Your Name" after the fire, Timothee Chalamet (nickname Sweet tea) after the 95 directly nominated for the Academy Award for Best actor, and then cooperate with Wes Anderson, the great director resources, popularity all the way up, obviously has entered the ranks of Hollywood.

However, the Hollywood superstar has been criticized for his verbal bullying of his junior high school classmates, his intimate relationship with the famous pedophile Woody Allen, and his numerous relationships with celebrities ranging from Madonna's daughter to Johnny Depp's daughter to Steve Jobs' daughter, earning him the nickname "the white Rich reaper."

So, what is the wonderful life experience of such a "new king of Hollywood"?

Today let's step into the story of Timothy Chalamet.

History of fame

Timothy was born in New York City in December 1995 to a former UNICEF editor father, a former Broadway dancer mother and an actress sister who now live in France.

He was influenced by his family as an entertainer, so he took many commercials when he was very young. However, he did not like such a life at that time. It was when he watched The Dark Knight at the age of 12 that he really made up his mind to be an actor. "When Les Ledger was in there, it really blew me away. I don't know what he was thinking, but I just thought it was the coolest thing in the world!"

So he followed in his family's footsteps and enrolled at Laguardia High School of the Arts, where actor Al Pacino, who won an Academy Award and four Golden Globes, also graduated.

Timothy has always called himself a "theater man," and at one point was more interested in theater than film. He launched his stage career in 2011 as Nicholas, a sexually curious 12-year-old, in The off-Broadway production of The Talls.

The following year, he played Finn, the vice president's rebellious son, in the second season of the mystery series Homeland, for which he was shortlisted for the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Ensemble performance in a television series.

It was after this play that Call Me By Your Name director Luca Gedagnino approached Timothy, who was 17 years old, exactly the same age as the hero of the original novel. Luca is known for never having to audition for a role, and is more interested in an actor's charisma.

So the two met only once for the role, but from that point on, the director was pretty sure it was going to be Timothy. "I met a very articulate, sunny, very intelligent, confident but not narcissistic, and artistically ambitious young man," Luca later told me. "That's exactly what the character is."

After that, Timothy thought he was going to shoot a movie in Italy, but he spent three years looking for financing for the film.

In the meantime, he graduated from high school and attended Columbia University. A year later, he transferred to New York University's Gallatin Institute for Personalized Learning for acting purposes.

But he eventually dropped out of school because of auditions, a move he later told an interviewer was reckless: "I thought I was going to follow this trend, but I wasn't ready for it, and my role didn't make me famous, which was kind of presumptuous."

In 2014, he starred in his first big production, which is where many people came to know him: as Matthew McConaughey's son Tom in Christopher Nolan's sci-fi film Interstellar.

After that, he continued to work in small budget films, while also active in the theater, which he loved.

In March 2016, his first film, Miss Stevens, played Billy, a troubled student who falls in love with his teacher, at South by Southwest. In the film a "Death of a Salesman" play, but also let him show a small drama stage polished out of the performance skills.

In the same year, "Call Me by Your Name" finally began shooting, in which he played a young Elio got to know the tall, lively and enthusiastic Oliver from the United States. In getting along, the two young people had deep feelings, but a series of shackles such as gender and age, so that the lovers had to break up in despair.

Critics said that despite his tender age, Timothy gave an excellent performance, portraying an innocent and sensitive teenager named Elio, whose every joy, sadness, anger, smile, movement, and tear made everyone melt into the film's Italian summer.

In addition, Timothy went to Italy a month and a half ahead of the others to learn Italian, piano and guitar for his role in the film, in order to feel like a local, he said.

Due to his preparation and mature acting skills, he was nominated for several acting awards and became the youngest Oscar nominee for Best Actor since 1993.

On the award stage, he prepared a two-page acceptance speech in which he thanked every director and senior he had worked with and sincerely said, "I will take hard work as the greatest benefit of being famous, because I know very well what it feels like to make a movie that no one sees."

He also joked that fame had finally helped people spell his name correctly, saying: "When I was 13 or 14, some producer would always spell the word at the end of his name wrong."

After becoming famous

After "Call Me by Your Name," Timothy joined Steve Carell's new film "Beautiful Boy," in which he lost 20 pounds as a troubled teen who becomes addicted to illicit drugs, and then starred with Woody Allen in "A Rainy Day in New York" and starred in a romance with Celina Gomez.

However, it was precisely because of this film that he became controversial. It is known that the release of the film coincided with the "Me Too" movement sweeping the United States. Coincidentally, Woody Allen was the culprit of this "movement".

In order not to be affected, Timothy said on his social media site that he would not associate with Woody Allen and would not benefit from a director who had sexually assaulted him, so he would donate all his proceeds from the film to sexual assault and harassment prevention charities.

He received an immediate wave of goodwill and praise, but, surprisingly, Woody Allen revealed in his memoir: "Timothy, who had made the 'draw a line' comment, came back to him privately and explained that he had publicly distanced himself from him for PR reasons."

Even more incredibly, Timothy did not respond to or debate the memoir's claims, and as a result, he has since lost many fans and popularity.

But this isn't the first time he's been talked about. On February 18, 2021, a woman took part in the "celebrity alumni" story online. In the first video she recorded, she claimed that she went to school with Hollywood's "hot potato" Timothy and threw a birthday party for a friend while they were at school together.

When she arrived, she was verbally attacked by Timothy, who, according to her own account, wore swimsuits and partied in the pool. "Look, there's a guy with orange peel!" he shouted at her in an insulting tone.

She explained that many people use the term to make fun of people who are "fat".

Timothy came up to her and called her fat in front of the whole class.

This also caused the netizen, who was already ashamed of her body, to take a big shock and still cannot forget the incident years later. So she decided to take the opportunity to share her story and let go of the burdens of years past.

The short story has sparked a war online, with many calling her a liar and just trying to get attention, but others claiming the girl would never go out of her way to lie. It's worth noting that Timothy never offered any explanation for the story from start to finish.

Love history

In addition to his personal story, his love history is also very wonderful, it is known that the girl he dated was either a star or a daughter.

In 2018, it was revealed that she was dating actor Depp's daughter. According to a source, the two grew up together and had a lot to say in common. They had been secretly dating for a long time before the relationship went public, so if paparazzi had not caught them kissing on the streets of New York, they would not have seen the light of day again.

But the highly publicised couple split two years later, and in an interview in 2020, Timothy insisted he was single.

Before that, he had a high school romance with Madonna's daughter. At the time, she was one of the school's most famous sweethearts. However, they split amicably in 2014, and he and she have since gone on to pursue their own careers.

In the same year that Depp's daughter split, the newly minted teen was spotted dating Steve Jobs' daughter. The photos showed the couple in casual clothes, laughing and talking, and the actor with a shy smile on his face. The flirtatious images caught the imagination, but since neither of them officially responded to the romance, it was more like a romance for the Hollywood teen.

Before his date with the Apple Girl, Timothy was photographed kissing actress Elsa Gonzales by a swimming pool. The two, who are six years apart, have been known to flirt with each other in public, despite their reputation, but as with his previous relationships, his relationship with Elsa ended in a breakup.

end

Teenagers have to grow up, and as he approaches 30, Timothy will have to decide whether to turn himself into a leading man in a blockbuster movie. His "fragile sense of cleanliness" has left the art-house film, and his acting has become a little dull.

Timothy has a long way to go before he finds the transition point between adulthood and adolescence.
