Warming Whiskey Cocktails to Sip This Fall
Not everybody loves wine in their cocktails, nor do people want to take the easy route by buying ready to drink cocktails. No, when it comes to Fall, people want a kick, an eccentric flavor, and a little bit of fireplace warmth in their alcoholic drinks. A nice cinnamon stick garnish, some sweet vermouth, angostura bitters, and maybe a few egg whites can all make this year's Fall one you'll never forget.

Beer cocktails were often something that were relegated to the "gross" side of bar menus — or to frat houses. However, times have changed and it's become a cocktail category that evolved into a pretty awesome range of flavors and drinks.

Confessions of a Nightclub Owner: Part 3
As a nightclub owner I was always interested in maximizing profits. You pay rent for an entire month, but you are only open 2 days of the week, so what do you do with the other 5 nights? In an ideal world you would be open all 7 days of the week but how many people really want to go out on a Sunday night in the middle of winter? Not a lot. How many young adults want to go out at 10 at night on a weekday? Not a lot. Without a kitchen and full food menu you couldn’t compete with restaurants and pubs during the day. So, I offered my club space to anyone that wanted to work together on an off night and we would make it work.

I Should Have Died That Night
I went through a phase. I was sad. Not a "boohoo no one likes me" kind of sad, but a deep, bone-settled kind of melancholy. I was at a small college in San Francisco. A 24-hour plane ride from home with a 15-hour time difference, piled with a huge school workload, NCAA basketball regime and underlying clinical depression; I was not in a good place. Wait, the phase? Drinking to the point of unconsciousness. I look back with dismay but also a good sense of humour.

Ice Wine and Food Pairing Guide
The term "ice wine" is an anglicized form of the German word "eiswein." It is a rich and sweet dessert wine made from the juice of grapes frozen on the vine. Water crystals are still in the juice when it is pressed so the sugar content is higher in these wines. Canada, along the Niagara Peninsula outside of Toronto, is probably the most famous place it is produced. However these sweet, ice wines are also made in Austria, Luxemburg and Oregon on the West Coast of the United States.

I Nearly Died
I just came out of the womb unlucky. I wish I was joking but I really am not. I come from Yorkshire, and you know that if something is going to happen whether it be funny, bad or dangerous, then chances are that it will happen to me. I mean, I've always been a very boisterous kid, very rough and tumble and, most of all, just straight-up clumsy. All of this I find funny, so don't feel bad if you laugh, its all good.

Confessions of a Nightclub Owner: Introduction
A long time ago in a city not so far away I had a dream of owning a nightclub. Not just any nightclub but an incredible nightclub full of beautiful women, well dressed men, the biggest international DJs and the most sophisticated club experience in town. Like I said that was the dream, but a small, old, underground dive bar was what I ended up owning. Why? It was cheap, the price was right, and I couldn't say no. I was young and impatient and I didn’t want to be the old creepy bar owner sitting in the dark corner every night smoking a fake Cuban cigar and hitting on every 19-year-old that walked into the bar. Anyways there I was a 24-year-old "nightclub" owner hitting on every 19-year-old and I had no clue what was in store for me but I thought I knew everything and I had no idea these 3 years would change my life permanently.

Best Tequila Cocktails for Whiskey Drinkers
Whiskey snobs have a way of looking down on all other spirits that aren't brown, especially tequila. They see it as unsophisticated, and view low-calorie tequila as a drink for sorority girls to throw up on. Whiskey, both scotch and bourbon, are the gold standard.
