FIrst off Congratulations on your leaderboard placement. Now, for this provocative piece: My wife and I just had a conversation regarding gender and sexual attitudes of late. When we were younger we saw the beginning of an open and welcoming society and were proud ot be a part of it. Now WTF happened, why is it going backwards. We do not understand. This is a powerful message, the only advice I have about people who are hurtful...If I won't invite them to my place, then their opinions mean nothing to me. Seek out and be with those that are kind.

God, this made me so upset. Iβm so sorry you guys had to go through that. Misogyny and homophobia are sewn so intricately into so many on a societal level, and itβs absolutely maddening. The attitude and outlook of this gentleman (not) you unfortunately came across in particular is all too familiar, and all too infuriating. I think a lot of these men donβt even realize that the easy, effortless toxic masculinity they exude is in fact not cute or funny, but immensely dangerousβand never right or excusable. It should always be taken as a threat for your own safety, and you dealt with the situation as best you could.
