Marijuana
A lot of people disregard marijuana, weed, pot, reefer, etc. as a gateway drug. I believe it can be depending on the person, as it was in my case. Trying any substance can easily lead to curiosity of other substances. I smoked marijuana for the first time my freshman year in high school. I fell in love with the effects of being high. I got to the point to where I would skip class to get high with friends. My senior year I would smoke marijuana every night before bed. I noticed I would be extremely sleepy and groggy the next morning. I would fall asleep during class and get in trouble. Marijuana would make me lazy, tired, and unproductive. I told myself I would never try any other drug, especially meth or heroin. Marijuana would lead me to curiosity of other substances later on.

The Battle of Marijuana
Marijuana? The cure or the enemy? Although I won't ever deny there are some properties found in the plant that are helpful and aid in many illnesses, are we justifying it properly? Are recreational users making excuses for their use based on medical studies? Before I begin sharing my opinion you should know, I smoked marijuana daily for a few years, that was after a few years of occasional use. This is all based on my own personal experiences with myself and those around me.

Mood Joint: A Rolling Method for Every Mood
Half-Centimeter Wide Spliff Contemplative times call for slim spliffs. You roll half-centimeter wide spliffs for when you want to sit outside your suburban living quarters in search of a tiny, quiet escape. A puff is enough of a rush to send you into a dizzy. An electric shock pulsating through every tiny pore of your being moves from the center of your chest and out. Then, a small pain. A state of anguish just enough to make you feel, but also enough to make you mildly euphoric. Thoughts fill your head, theories, as the sound of crickets crowds your ears and the smell of laundry detergent, April Fresh scented, comes wafting by via the newborn Spring night breeze. The only light illuminating you is the street lamp forty-five degrees northwest above your driveway, you making up words out of your license plate: five year debate, 5YRDB8. You think enough to want to write.

Is Marijuana Withdrawal a Real Thing?
Discussing the subject of marijuana withdrawal is no easy task. Many people are simply unwilling to ask the question: Is marijuana addictive?Proponents of both medical and recreational medical marijuana use are quick to insist that smoking marijuana isn't at all addictive, making it impossible to go through the withdrawal process. Detractors, however, decry it as a gateway drug, and suggest that your first toke is also your first step toward substance abuse. It's a complicated situation. The truth lies somewhere in the middle, as it usually does. To be fair, it skews toward the safety of marijuana consumption. While withdrawal does exist, and addiction by the same token, it's not widespread. In fact, you can say the phenomenon is rare. It depends more on the individual than the cannabis.

Is Cannabis Our Friend?
Buzzfeed is a popular media page that shares most of its blog-like articles on Facebook. While it uses other social media platforms like Twitter, the primary outlet is Facebook. The post discusses the popularity of Marijuana in the US. It focuses in on the fact that couples are beginning to replace open alcohol bars at their weddings with open marijuana bars. This has become a fad that most people are agreeing with. At the end of the article, Buzzfeed ran a survey to see if the reader thinks “It’s a great idea!”, “It’s crossing the line a bit…”, or “I don’t care, I only go to weddings for the cake." Sixty two percent of responses were in favor of the first answer, Twenty one percent thinks it’s “crossing the line a bit,” and seventeen percent didn’t care either way (Torres). Wedding favors at these events are usually cannabis-oriented, and there ends up being no alcohol present. There are many companies in states where weed is legal that cater these events with expensive cannabis-laced sweet treats and favors for the guests. For some couples, cannabis is incorporated into the ceremony as a substitute for the unity candle. Cannabis has also been proven to be cheaper than alcohol at weddings. For a 100 person wedding, the cost of a marijuana bar for two hours is around $300. For every hour after, there is a $100 fee (Torres). Proven to be cheaper than alcohol, many people are turning to this type of wedding. This is proof that the cannabis industry is thriving and becoming an extremely popular and acceptable aspect of US culture.

Hang on! Before you try to learn how to roll a joint like a boss, instead try eating your marijuana raw. You'd be surprised to find there's a great many reasons to eat marijuana raw, many of which tend to get scrapped as hoaxes or simply unfounded information.
