your picture’s worth all of my heart
To Jane Eyre from Edward Rochester
My dearest friend Jane,
It warmed my heart up so toasty and sunny and perfectly crisped like an edge of a sunny side egg—-to see your glowing face in that picture the other day.
I wrote to you that I enjoyed it, but it was more than that. I pictured warm teas and long laughs and perfect hand holdings and finally being free to talk with you for hours and hours once again.
Your sweet, empathetic words made me feel happiness and love and joy and hope.
Will you send me a letter back, a small one? I know you are very much perturbed with the post office and no longer wish to do business with them and I respect that, but this is the only way I can discreetly talk with you, my dearest.
I love you with everything I have. Your picture was worth more than anything, all of my heart.
❤️, Edward
