You Tore Out My Heart

Pain is not word.

It is scream.

A door slammed shut.

You did not hurt.

You destroyed.

You tore my heart.

I trusted your hands.

They cut me instead.

Your smile was knife.

Your love was trick.

Now silence lives in me.

A hollow chest.

No beat.

No song.

Yet I remember.

Your eyes.

Your lies.

My belief.

What spell held me?

What fool was I?

You did not hurt.

You broke me.

And still I reach.

For nothing.
