You’re just out for the day

You’re not too far away

Not like you left this place

Traversing some inter dimensional space

Those thoughts I keep locked away

Because the moment they go astray

He is gone

The words resound like a clock tower striking one

The walls begin to close in

Until my bones are broken

Breathing stilted

Smile wilted

The veil lifted

Reality tilted

My guiding light

A beacon in the night

A spark

In the dark

Snuffed

Death took a foul breath and huffed

I didn’t realize until after

What a blessing it is when life comes with a source of laughter

How sweet the sound

In it, I happily drown

I can’t breathe anymore

It echoes long after I shut the door

I continue on my way

You’re just out for the day
