You Don’t Love Me Anymore

A love that turned to the cold, cold ice

You Don’t Love Me Anymore

It feels like I’m falling through cold ice,

not breaking it,

just slipping under

without a sound.

You don’t look at me the same.

Your voice doesn’t wait for mine.

You speak in short sentences now,

as if affection were a chore.

I say goodnight,

and your silence

bites harder than winter.

I reach for you,

but your hands

are somewhere else,

in another warmth

I can’t feel anymore.

You don’t love me anymore.

I see it in the stillness.

I feel it in the air

between us.

Sharp.

Frigid.

Unforgiving.

And I keep falling.

Even the dark won’t catch me.

You used to trace stars on my back,

now your touch

is a memory I flinch from.

I whisper apologies

you no longer hear,

and you blink through me

like I was never there.

I lie beside you,

but I might as well be

the shadow behind the door,

waiting

for someone to see it.

You don’t love me anymore.

We live in arctic ice.

love has gone long ago,

whats ahead I just don’t know.

There are relationships that go through periods like this. A time to try to ask questions to make sure that its over or not. Good job.
