You Don’t Like Me
A Poem
By Atomic HistorianPublished 9 months ago • Updated 9 months ago • 1 min read
You don’t like me
You only like the fiction in your mind
You don’t know me
You only show me the likable version of you
Show me your monster
And we can talk
Otherwise I’ll walk

When you see someone's dark side, you truly know them
Monsters are so well hidden behind our facades. Love the call of the imps.
E'en when the monster cannot be seen, know it's there. Though I'd rather you never have to suffer seeing the worst of me, know it's there. Whatever you might imagine of the deepest, darkest me, know that it's worse. And trust that, knowing what lies beneath my surface, I have no cause to judge any as being less than or more bedeviled than me.
