Angel and demon
Artist, so dauntless
Arrogant, deceitful
Aiming for decimation, they say
You are everything and all of it
A king on his throne
A monster
A role model
Paint a picture of you
Put it on my wall
Kiss it hard
Or punch a hole through your fucking head
And watch the blood seep down
Onto your smiling face
A face that everybody knows
New York City
Winter in January
Walking jovially with all your
Watches and jewelry
Wait and just
See how they’ll bend and break
All your shiny things
I know you know where they came from
Don’t hold them up to the light
Don’t think they will never fade
Laughter and tears
Love and tyranny
Lives risked, treason
Lies and false tolerance
Legal issues, taking advantage of
Every soul you meet
And they never see through you
Don’t you tire of it?
That endless, mindless power
When does the game grow stale?
The hatred of everyone else but yourself
Stowed away behind a smile
And a few sharp words
Narcissism has killed you
And warped your mind
Making you see them all as less than
Even when they hold you
To a standard like no other
Because the sound of their applause means
They love you
They don’t love you
They love the idea of you
You’re just bad product
Defective, tentatively ticking away
Biding your time
And losing your value

Wonderfully written! I love the line "you're just bad product", very relevant in so many ways about what's going on in the world.
Loved this - especially the last few lines. Brill.
What excellent use of alliteration in pockets! And great flow too! Really liked, “See how they’ll bend and break All your shiny things”
I just finished watching “dirty pop: boy band scam” on Netflix and this reminds me of it to a T. World revolving around money and the idea of success so much that it literally implodes and takes everyone with it
Loved this ❤
This was certainly very thought provoking! Loved your poem
So going to have to read this again and again, I feel there's so much more to get from it! Incredible work! 🩷
