You lit the world with grace and love
Soft and light, you filled the air
With beauty deep and warmth so rare

The joy inside,
A shining light we cannot hide
You're here
A morning smile that chased my fear
You and I
No thousand years
Could melt the love that brought us near
Happiness came with your touch
The stars aligned for us — so much
And fate just whispered in my ear:

Your eyes, they glow
A light my soul has come to know
Your arms — my home, my gentle peace
In your embrace, my doubts all cease
And hand in hand, our dreams unfold
Since you arrived... my story's told

Day 4 of Quitting
If this is how sobriety feels, maybe it’s better to go through life a little buzzed… this, along with other hits like, I want to kill myself, I wish I was dead, and I’m going to throw myself off a bridge have been the only thoughts on rotation these past few days. I promise myself that if, in a month, I still feel like this (‘this’ meaning despondent, full of rage, and simultaneously numb) I can go back to smoking. Until mid-February though? Nicotine is off the table.
