Ye Who May Find No Peace

We may not find that which we so desperately need

It's something often not sought by the young

Of its existence, one will only read

And have it wished upon them when they are done

By Thomas Rey on Unsplash

Those who seek it most fall short the fastest of all who it evades

Feelings of the world around them rattling their mind

Voices in their heads speak of crazy escapades

The pain of things long since done leaves them blind

By Joshua Fuller on Unsplash

They're such weary souls, all of them tortured through time

Nothing about the world will ever make sense

Always the uncompleted mission in the back of their mind

The tasks before them seem so immense

By Drew Hays on Unsplash

A life of noise for one who most desperately needs it most

Sorrow fills the heart connected to the broken mind of theirs

Living in the shadow of a life that has become a ghost

They're suffering because of others' unfortunate affairs

By Reza Hasannia on Unsplash

The others who desperately need the sweet release unfound

Ones who did those things were not meant for the acts of good men

Carry the devils of the past around

Desperately in need of peace, but of it they won't mention

By Christian Wiediger on Unsplash

Ye may not find peace within this life with such a damaged soul

Forgiving yourself, you may not possess the strength once needed

Hurt and pain, your long-time best friend since the days of old

There may only be peace when you see it before you and greet it

Are humans capable of complete and total peace. The lucky few find it in moments...for that we should be glad. Thought provoking words.

  • Beautiful, Jason. So very well written.

  • And then it may perhaps be only with that final rest. But sooner or later, it does come to all.
