Write Your Best Life
For some, life is nothing more than an empty page,
Without words or feelings or advice from even a sage.
Their pages flattened unattended and vacant of thought,
Holds nothing of life’s love or laughter, nothing’s been taught.
Simple steps going nowhere, no destinations pin-pointed,
Yet you hear them say how blessed they are or anointed.
I question this boast this flippant remark voiced repeatedly,
If this be true, this vacant stock is seen speaks differently.
There’s no passion or compassion or empathy proclaimed,
Only lackluster pages spread on time’s tables all the same.
No adventure or discovery or daring feat attempted,
No stories or rhymes or cascading memories, they’re exempted.
So tell me again how you’ve lived your life secluded,
From life’s abundant passionate experiences, you’re deluded.
For to live one’s life without taking on its challenges,
Is to have never lived at all but simply being savages.
Now, take up your pen holding it upright and securely,
For the first expose’ is always the hardest undoubtedly,
But if you never begin to write no matter your age,
All that you might have been will simply fade away.
