Working Hard

Hardly Working

Working hard or hardly working?

Ain’t no mindless labor gonna get me a birken

So I think as I go and go and go and go

At the end I’m left with nothing to show

This world is a stage and I’m in the back

Waiting for my turn I stare at a crack

Favoritism covers the stage even with those more deserving

Still I stay swerving trying my best to stop the curving

I want to be seen and I want to be appreciated

Yet here I’m only known for what I have done or created

Nose to the grindstone it does not matter I guess

What does is what they see and what you do like chess

Move your pieces according to a strategy

You won’t win every battle but you can win the war

If you focus on working from the core

Work when it’s necessary and rest in due time

If you treat your mind and body right, a penny turns into a dime
