Woman

Powerfully underestimated

By Lenny ScarlettPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

He thought he had me at the palm of his hands

He really thought he had broken me

He believed that I was his,

And only his

At night he would monitor the creaks and squeaks of the bedroom door

To see if I would try to leave

I would sleep with one eye open until my body would fail me and transport me

Into the days of tomorrow

He arm would strap around my waist like a belt holding me in place

Making. Me. Stay. Put.

They say a mans love can make a woman’s mind crazy,

Can maybe even break her logic

Cognition

Her ambition

And forget her dreams

A man can induce amnesia to a woman

blind to her worth

But men often gauge incorrectly

the women

They attempt to fuck over

They may conquer the few who are unaware of the spells of love raining them in

But to a powerfully

Aware

Intelligent woman?

Be

Ware

That woman will remove her mask of innocence and desire

She will take off the blank slated stare

He can come to feel so comfortable around

And with the smallest of efforts- turn her gaze into an intense glassy stare;

To one Medusa would shy away from

Haunting, domineering,

unapologetic,

And snatch his soul
