Without Consent

A rage has been building through time

Generations of suffering

A body no longer mine

Laws to protect

Laws to shame

Laws that do nothing

Patriarchial's the name

Take off that colour

Take off those shoes

Why bother ask me

When I no longer get to choose?

A rage has been building through time

Innocent children

Scared lives, more bodies to find

Laws that blame victims

Laws that excuse

Laws that do little

Yet victims must choose

Stop walking home

Don't stay out late

Don't blame offenders

If you forget to lock the gate

A rage has been building through time

Tortured victims

and surviviors, a crime

Voices made silent

Voices unheard

Voices left screaming

in silence, so absurd

Don't drink the wine

Don't take the ride

Don't say no

If you choose to go inside

A rage has been building through time

Tired souls

And lost freedom entwined

Bodies left shamed

Bodies left bruised

Bodies of trauma

Lives lost and abused

A rage has been building through time

Red rage.
