Gone, Disappeared

she closed her eyes
and disappeared
the only prize
when things get weird
topped out, and dipped
vanished, withdrew
the great fade away
into something new
retired, retreated
she passed out of sight
expired, evaporated
escaped to survive
she ebbed and she flowed
dematerialized
took a leap and passed go
to her old self, she died
when they found what was left
no one knew what to say
she flew the coop and the nest
and simply shriveled away

I found this beautifully eerie.
WOW! Fabulous job Kelli! You truly have a way with words! Get it gurl! 💪🏾🌸
Damn, it really did feel like she simply shriveled away whilst reading this. Leaving behind only her slippers. There's something so haunting about this. It's not the image, or even the topic. But the pace, the word choice, how deliberate it felt. Unapologetic. Effortless. Damn! ♥️👌🏽👏🏽🤗
I wish I could do this sometimes
