Dear Earth,

This letter bears the weight of my remorse,

For we, your children, deafened by our pride,

Have failed to hear your voice, your silent call.

Once we flourished in your gentle embrace,

But with the passage of time,

A path of wanton greed, we defaced.

In ignorance, we tore your skin and soul,

Avarice our compass, as we mined your heart.

The smoke and concrete, boundless and unchained,

A testament to hubris and a land apart.

Your oceans weep, your forests breathe their last,

The creatures great and small, in peril now,

Echoes of a rich and vibrant past.

In this confession, I reach out

To plead for guidance,

To restore the ancient dialogue in lieu of our decadence.

If we fail to change, to grow anew,

Our legacy shall be but ash and dust.

With sorrow, and a hope to restore,

I sign my name, a humble child of yours.
