Wish, A letter to Eric

By: Diamond Smith

By Diamond SmithPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

I... I wish you would have told me the truth.

Wish you could laugh with me again.

Wish we could talk again.

Stay up all night and laugh again.

Wish I could relive the moment when I met you.

Wish I could make the world turn to prevent the inevitable.

My dearest friend am I... am I thought in your mind ever?

Am I a memory or have you already forgotten?

Your words, your accent, and your name and you.

They live on within me reminding me there was no one as open and as accepting as you.

Have you forgotten the countless nights up until our eyes shut?

The burdens within ourselves that reminded us that we were enough

You left me so cold after everyone else had as well

I wish I didn't have this lonely heart to dwell on

I wish your mind could perceive the scars you left on me.

I wish you had given me a warning

I wish there was no you, and it was just me

Tell me wouldn't that be more easy?

You were my best friend and you betrayed me

I wish that I could forget

heartbreak
